While we’re proud of our history, we’re even more excited about our future. With business and technology transformation on the horizon, there’s never been a better time to be part of BECU.

The Target Pay Range for this position is $104,000.00-$126,900.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $80,800.00 - $150,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

BENEFITS

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.  Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance.  We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees.  Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan.  Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Additional details regarding BECU Benefits can be found here.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As a Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) at BECU, you'll be at the core of delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure software that powers our financial technology solutions. Your expertise in designing automated tests, debugging applications, and optimizing test strategies will ensure our systems perform flawlessly. You’ll collaborate with development teams to build testable software, proactively identify risks and vulnerabilities, and drive innovation in automated testing.

Additionally, you'll engage in manual functional testing, work on DNA, contribute to automation testing efforts, and ensure quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SLC). If you’re passionate about quality assurance, automation, and continuous improvement, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on BECU’s technology landscape.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.  For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Ensure Software Quality & Reliability:

  • Manual Functional Testing: Perform hands-on manual testing to validate software functionality and ensure seamless performance.
  • Debugging Expert: Identify, classify, and resolve application errors through root cause analysis.
  • Risk Manager: Detect potential risks early in the development cycle and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Develop & Automate Testing Solutions:

  • Automation Champion: Write coded integration, load, and UI automation tests using C#, WinAppDriver, and Visual Studio.
  • Test Case Developer: Design and implement scalable, automated test cases that integrate into our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Data Architect: Automate test data creation in test database instances, ensuring realistic and efficient test execution.

Enhance CI/CD & Continuous Testing:

  • Pipeline Integrator: Ensure automated tests execute seamlessly during software builds in a continuous integration system using Azure DevOps.
  • Version Control Expert: Utilize Git for version control and perform code reviews, pull requests, and branching strategies.
  • Collaboration Partner: Work closely with developers, QA, business analysts, and system analysts to deliver enterprise-class software.

This isn’t just about ticking off tasks on a list. It's about making a significant, positive change in BECU’s journey, where your contributions are valued, and your growth is continually fostered.

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN:

BECU is looking for problem-solvers, automation experts, and testing innovators who want to work in an agile, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment. If you’re driven by ensuring software excellence and efficiency, this role will be a great fit.

  • Cutting-edge technology environment: Work with modern automation frameworks, UI-based testing tools, and DevOps pipelines.
  • Growth & learning: Enhance your expertise in test-driven development, security testing, and performance optimization.
  • Meaningful impact: Your work ensures BECU’s software meets the highest security, performance, and reliability standards.
  • Collaborative culture: Partner with developers, QA engineers, and product teams in a supportive, innovative setting.
  • End-to-end visibility: See your testing solutions integrated and deployed into live production environments.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:
