Job Description Summary:
Our product leaders help us design, build, and deliver innovative products that meet the needs of our global customers. To help us continue expanding our offerings, we are in search of an experienced Sr. Director of product management to steer a multidisciplinary development team. We’re looking for a confident leader who can guide cross-functional teams in the creation of products that improve the customer experience and grow market share. The Director will also oversee all operations at our business units and functions throughout Australia, ensuring the seamless execution locally of cross functional, enterprise-wide programs, and facilitating achievement of performance targets and financial targets, collaborating with other Business Units and Functional Teams. The primary responsibility requires exceptional Product Management experience, primarily in mainframe product portfolios including IMS and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary globally based teams to drive efficiency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Evangelism: Define and communicate the product vision in support of the consumer strategy, including maintaining a clear product roadmap aligned to delighting customers and driving aggressive growth (both from a customer and revenue perspective) in the short- and long-term.
Advanced Strategic Thinking: independently design/identify the ideal approach to answering business questions
Provide leadership and expertise on the competitive landscape, driving processes to identify current and potential competitors, research competitive products, and maintain competitive information.
Represent the customer; build strong customer relationships, develop deep insights on evolving customer requirements, be the champion and voice of the customer, bring the customer's voice into the product development process.
Evangelize our vision constantly so all stakeholders are aligned, have context and understand how our activities tie to the Mission and Purpose
Manage the roadmap: make prioritization decisions to adjust based on engineering tradeoffs and customer feedback, own development of business cases to support proposed investment priorities.
Partner with Business Development to identify key partnerships to help drive awareness and differentiating offerings in the marketplace.
Work with third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.

· Fiscal Management:
Establish and incorporate fiscally responsible use of operating budgets and control operating costs associated within the region including program costs.
Drive cost improvement initiatives to maintain EBIDTA.
· Operational Oversight:
Consistently interface with Rocket’s People Leadership Team (PLT) as well as People Operations team members concerning people team annual programs and performance related concerns
Actively collaborate with all business units and functional leaders who are stakeholders with locally based employees.
· Leadership and Management:
Foster a High-Performance culture incorporating Rocket’s Core Values of Empathy, Humanity, Trust, and Love. Promote a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Develop and implement strategic operational plans approved by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
Actively participate and represent Rocket in AUS as in community connector activities, and as a RIDE Pillar and Gallup Engagement Champion.
Research and report on local business and industry trends and competitive landscape, identifying market threats and recommending solutions.
· Business Development:
Represent Rocket Software at local industry trade events, campus recruitment and speaking engagements.
Establish and maintain relationships with local vendors, customers, and government agencies.
Drive opportunities for government funding/grants for Rocket to fuel savings for Rocket’s future growth.
· Safety and Compliance:
Ensure all activities comply with relevant labor relations, immigration, renumeration, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Implement and maintain safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Evangelize Rocket’s core values ensuring business ethics are maintained for all Rocketeers, including compliance with Rocket’s Code of Conduct.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Support initiatives for meeting Rocket Corporate OKRs.
Support Rocketbuild, NextGen, and other innovative programs.
Participate in Action Planning resulting from Gallup survey results.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Masters preferred
Experience with IMS and Db2 products is essential (preferably as both an end-user/consultant and/or product manager for them)
Minimum of 10 years of directly related professional experience.
Demonstrated Mainframe experience as a practitioner
Cross-functional collaboration and project management experience; - able to collaborate with various functional partners to source data, define business objectives, and drive alignment.
Expertise in managing time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines and influence through persuasive written and verbal communications.
Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making.
Experience with end-to-end product delivery.
Australian Health Safety Compliance and prepare for growth that may include facility operations.
Previous Corporate Development or Business Development experience.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make data-driven decisions.
Familiarity with employment regulations and compliance standards.
