Job description

Why Praxent?

We get it. You have options. Let us tell you why we’re different. Our work is changing the world of financial services. Everyday, clients arrive with big ideas for their industry. They’re experts in their field with the vision and resources you need to change everything. All that’s left is the right team to bring that vision to life. If you’re a fast learner and you love working on a wide variety of projects, you’re going to like it here. We help our clients modernize, rather than rebuild, outdated customer-facing software applications. Our clients see a return within weeks instead of months and that’s why they choose us.

At Praxent, we let you do your work your way. We’re a team of 120+ located throughout the United States and Central/South America. Our role is to encourage you, support you, and give you the freedom you need to thrive. Whether you’re working at home, in a coffee shop, or heck, even on your travels, we’re here to create an environment that lets you live your best life. On your terms.

We trust our people to be their best. It’s a level of autonomy and respect that’s helped us grow a diverse and brilliant team of experts. Experts who also happen to be some of the best colleagues you’ve ever worked alongside

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in the following locations: Texas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Wisconsin, and Florida.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a visionary Technical Director to lead the development and implementation of innovative technical solutions across our diverse portfolio of projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining architectural visions, collaborating with clients to clarify project requirements, advocating for the value of well defined architecture, and fostering collaboration to achieve optimal project outcomes.

Here’s how you’ll do it:

  • Win Engagements: Craft architecture and technical approaches in the sales process, eliciting insights, demonstrating expertise, cultivating relationships.
  • Deliver Results: Provide end-to-end technical leadership and supervision for projects, navigating scope, risks, and 3rd parties to ensure successful delivery within budget and timeline; also lead the delivery of technically-focused initial engagements such as code audits and POC phases and identify/integrate nonfunctional requirements into backlog.
  • Oversee Delivery: Provide clarity and vision, identifying technical complexity and analyzing the impact so that you can provide clear direction and recommendations.

We’d Love to Hear From You If

  • You have 7+ years of experience in solution architecture and technical design. Are you a hands-on leader who specializes in solution and application architecture? Demonstrate knowledge and experience in full-stack development, cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and the software development lifecycle.
  • You have 2+ years of leadership experience in technical teams. You define, inspire, and drive the execution of architectural visions across multiple projects.
  • You are a force multiplier. You’re interested in client engagements and all subsequent project discussions. You want to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present a unified and strategic vision for every initiative.
  • You’re using tomorrow's best practices. You stay informed about the latest technology trends and industry standards. You also understand that the best architectural solution is the one that aligns with business objectives and user needs.
  • You’re competent to the core. You grasp the foundational principles of system architecture—from scalability to security to performance optimization and beyond.
  • You align to our values. We Care Deeply, Always Deliver, Never Settle, Do It Together, Own the Outcome, and approach every situation with a CAN DO mentality – learn more about our Core Values and be sure to let us know which aligns most with your experience!
Required Skills
  • Technical Proficiency: A deep understanding of various technologies, programming languages, frameworks, architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, cloud computing, APIs), and platform expertise is essential.
  • Architectural Design: Ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable architectures that align with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Delivery Management: Managing projects effectively, including scope, timelines, resources, and balancing constraints in order to meet timeline and budget requirements is essential for successful solution delivery.
  • Client Consulting: Understanding client needs, industry dynamics, and business processes is essential for providing tailored solutions that drive value and meet specific client objectives.
