The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Innovation department is looking for a Senior Business Developer with experience from life science and biosolutions to join a unique task force team, headed by a Project Director, dedicated to a pioneering exploratory pre-project on advancing precision fermentation in Denmark with the aim to facilitate the Green Transition.

The Job

As Senior Business Development Manager, you will work closely with colleagues in-house and key external partners in the innovation ecosystem to prepare a playbook for advancing precision fermentation in Denmark. You will drive the business development contributing with your extensive business development skills and experience to create powerful value propositions for leading customers and prepare revenue and cost projections for the business case.

Your key tasks will be:

  • Developing business models and value propositions for biosolutions to leading customers in the field
  • Preparing revenue and cost projections for the business case
  • Stakeholder interaction and management
  • Coordinating and compiling input for a full project playbook to be presented for decision
  • Project management

This is a temporary 18-month position with possibility of extension. Your primary workplace is onsite at the Novo Nordisk Foundation's offices in Hellerup, Denmark, with option for partly remote working conditions in agreement with the Project Director. Some travel activity should be expected (10-20 days/year).

Professional Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you must be motivated by working in a fast-paced team in collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders.

We expect that you hold a master’s degree in business development or other relevant education related to business development, or master’s degree in a food or biosolution and fermentation related area combined with extensive business development experience and that you have 10 or more years of relevant work experience in academia or industry. 

Furthermore, we expect that you possess:

  • Profound business development experience, preferably from B2B of food ingredients
  • Understanding of the voice of the customer
  • Ability to conduct complex analyses to provide actionable insights and fact-based recommendations
  • Excellent ability to understand, analyse, structure and communicate large and complex project contents
  • Excellent structured communication skills
  • Proficient project management skills and experience related to the above
  • Understanding the biosolution product space in the Danish ecosystem is a plus
