Job Summary
The Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer focuses on securing infrastructure, deploying and managing cloud-native security tools, and ensuring continuous monitoring of cloud environments.
This is a remote position available to candidates residing in AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TN, or TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cloud security tools and solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Configure and manage cloud-native services securely, including VPC, IAM, storage encryption, and key management.
- Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps teams.
- Apply least-privilege access controls using RBAC/ABAC models and manage IAM policies.
- Deploy and configure monitoring solutions to detect anomalies and potential threats.
- Investigate cloud security incidents and contribute to incident response activities.
- Implement automated alerting and remediation for common security issues using SOAR platforms.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for cloud security tasks.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to provision secure cloud environments.
- Ensure cloud environments meet regulatory and industry compliance standards.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and evidence of cloud security controls.
- Implement governance policies using tools like AWS Config, Azure Policy, and GCP Organizational Policy.
- Collaborate with Cloud Architects, DevOps, and SOC teams to enhance overall cloud security posture.
- Document cloud security configurations, incident reports, and operational procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Four to six years of professional experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or Computer Science, with at least two years focused on cloud security.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including securing cloud-native services.
- Knowledge of container security.
- Experience with SIEM platforms and endpoint protection.
- Knowledge of threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages.
- Experience with IaC tools.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security benchmarks.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and the secure software development lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to cloud security.
