Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Sales Manager for PTG Consulting - Hospitality is responsible for providing services to support the company’s sales and service programs for contracted clients under the Calliope Collective portfolio. The duties will be ongoing sales support for Calliope Collective portfolio, and the goals include client retention and new client acquisition. This role influences and has responsibility for client retention and new business for PTG Consulting and the Calliope Collective. Client types include independent hotels or small groups of hotels.  


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

Under the general supervision of the Vice President, Hospitality Sales – PTG Consulting Hospitality, the Manager will work with the Calliope Collective, PTG Consulting Hospitality team as well as regional and global sales associates within the Preferred Travel Group organization. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A.    Develop strategic sales plans for PTG Consulting’s Calliope Collective global hotel clients to deliver sales representation services. Markets and services may adjust as needed as market conditions or hotel needs change. 

B.    Develop presentations  to promote hotel clients to target audiences.

C.    Conduct in-person and virtual outreach to luxury travel advisors and meeting planner audiences to educate them on and encourage bookings for Calliope Collective hotel clients. Outreach activities include but are not limited to webinars, telephone and in-person sales calls, roadshows, events, and industry tradeshows. 

D.    Plan and host travel advisor group FAM (familiarization) trips according to strategic sales plan and overall Calliope Collective plans.

E.    Conduct new hotel orientation / onboarding. 

F.    Support the need to gather special offer content from hotel clients for use in sales and marketing promotions via Calliope Collective digital marketing such as newsletters and social media posts

G.    Counsel hotel clients to help them position their brand, amenities, and services for suitability and maximum impact among luxury travel advisors and their clients 

H.    Record activities and results from outreach activities to develop monthly reporting for hotel clients. Conduct monthly calls with hotel clients to review activities and outcome and recommend changes as appropriate.

I.    Contribute to PTG Consulting growth goals by identifying new revenue opportunities through new hotels, markets, or services, and contributing to client retention,  as well as cost-managment initiatives.  

J.    Support new client acquisition goals by developing and delivering engaging presentations and proposals

K.    Maintain awareness of competitor activities, services, and client base, as well as industry trends impacting PTG Consulting and their clients


QUALIFICATIONS

    Completion of a university degree program or related hotel/travel industry sales experience

    Four+ years luxury hospitality or travel industry experience. Two+ years on-property or multi-hotel sales experience is preferred

    Excellent relationship building skills; customer service oriented; ability to manage multiple tasks; proven written and verbal presentation skills 

    Must be extremely flexible and adaptable to constant change 

    Self-starter- ability to work on own under general direction of supervisor 

    Experience working in a consulting capacity is a plus

    Contact database of luxury travel advisors, meeting planners, global independent hotel owner/managers highly preferred 

    Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally


WORKING CONDITIONS

This role follows a hybrid working model, with a base out of the Newport Beach, CA Preferred Travel Group office locations. Associates are generally expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week, allowing for a balance of in-person collaboration and flexible remote working. Office space is beautifully as well as functionally decorated including all required technology tools. Employee is seated most of the time. Travel (domestic and international) is estimated at approximately 40% of time as appropriate to support the overall expectation of the position. Preferred Travel Group will provide technology requirements as needed.

SALARY RANGE

$80,000-$95,000; actual compensation within this range will be determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise.
