Responsible for the development and monitoring of data governance standards for divisional operations. This role, along with other Data Steward roles, will act as custodians of all data that is produced & reported on from QBE systems.
The opportunity
- Lead the development, application and monitoring of data governance standards for the division
- Participation in projects/initiatives at both a Group & local level to ensure data governance standards are applied
- Manage activities from the Information Management Forum
- Responsible for defining a single view of truth for all business reporting across the division
- Accountable for data quality and integrity
- Data governance standards documented and communicated to all stakeholders including Finance and Actuarial
- Certification of all published reports & reporting models
- Ensure all data processes are clearly documented, agreed and adhere to risk and security policies
- Oversight to ensure company processes and procedures are followed for developing & implementing change
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders
- Apply effective communication strategies in order to ensure data governance standards are understood by all relevant stakeholders
- Keep abreast of industry, technological and competitive developments
- Monitor compliance to data governance standards
About You
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and at least 5 years of relevant work experience
- Excellent knowledge of data governance principles
- Reporting/analytical role with experience in a structured data governance environment
- Ability to lead and manage a team
- Business stakeholder management
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong quantitative/analytical skills
- Proven ability to implement and maintain data governance principles in a complex business environment
- People/team management
