Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Utility Sales Executive to join our dynamic sales team for the Central Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales of utility services to commercial and industrial clients. As a Utility Sales Executive, you will develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, identify new business opportunities, and promote our range of utility solutions. The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the utility industry, with a specific focus on executive presence and electrification.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market share goals, with a specific emphasis on electrification trends.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities related to electrification to identify opportunities for growth.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Identify and engage with potential clients, particularly VP and C-level executives, understanding their capital program requirements and presenting tailored solutions with a keen focus capital program benefits.
Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about the latest developments in the Exodigo product offering and how it can meet the needs of utility clients.
- Educate clients on the features and benefits of our utility solutions, emphasizing the positive impact on their capital improvement initiatives.
- Provide feedback to the Exodigo product roadmap based on customer interactions and discovery conversations.
Leading Discovery Discussions:
- Conduct discovery calls with an ability to understand client needs and articulate the value proposition of our utility services, emphasizing industry knowledge to build trust and rapport.
- Address client concerns and objections effectively, ensuring a consultative and solution-driven sales approach.
Pipeline Management:
- Manage and prioritize sales opportunities in the pipeline & support vertical utility lead deals as appropriate.
- Regularly update the CRM system to track progress, forecast sales, and generate reports.
Negotiation and Closing:
- Work with utility vertical leader on contract negotiation process to close deals in line with company guidelines, paying attention to payment terms, IP, and other required contractual terminology.
- Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure smooth contract execution.
Market Research:
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and customer needs, with a particular focus on electrification strategies.
- Provide feedback to the product development team based on market insights (e.g., resiliency, electrification, demand response, clean hydrogen).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field.
- 5-7 years in B2B sales, preferably in the utility sector.
- Strong understanding of utility services, energy efficiency, and sustainability concepts, with a focus on electrification.
- Excellent executive presence, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
$100,000 - $150,000 Base Salary
