Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • • Manage pricing insurance business projects utilizing actuarial and statistical standards and methodologies.
  • Develop and execute appropriate pricing, modeling and product strategies of moderate complexity to support business goals together with management and key business partners.
  • Use best practices to determine appropriate analysis and perform moderate to highly complex analysis, using creative actuarial, statistical and/or predictive modeling techniques, including proper documentation and evaluation, as appropriate to inform business decisions.
  • Provide thought and/or technical leadership, including contributions to improvement, development and innovation, and sometimes serves as a subject matter expert.
  • Plan, implement, manage, and contribute on projects that are complex using accepted project management standards.
  • Communicate appropriateness of actuarial/modeling techniques and results to management and non-technical users to inform business decisions.
  • Select, review, use and ensure quality of data used to perform actuarial and statistical services and determination of appropriate tool utilization.
  • Leverage understanding of insurance business, products, markets and regulatory environments in the creation of business strategies and decisions, building expertise within a specialized area.

Education
  • 4 year Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business Administration or related field (or foreign education equivalent)

Experience
  • 3 years of experience in a Quantitative Analyst or related role developing and applying predictive models to support business goals.

  • Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section):

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) conducting and implementing rate revisions for specific states using actuarial rate indications, trends and loss triangles, added data through building and analyzing loss ratio reports, reraters, offbalances, and, state specific regulations to ensure adequate rate and pricing of current products; DE implementing new insurance products from inception to post implementation monitoring – including but not limited to conducting market research, competitor analysis, rules review, discounts/surcharge analysis, territory analysis, and conversion analysis; DE performing segmentation analyses using actuarial and statistical techniques to provide direction and recommendation for continued profitability of existing products; DE training peers on company product structures and processes including data tables, MS Excel report structures, YB, SQL, and SAS code programs; and DE managing agency relationships by aiding in maintaining agent reporting requirements and data report analysis.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is $95,700.00 - 145,850.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
