The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles while doing commercial deliveries.

Serve is looking for a Logistics Manager to manage logistics operations, including shipping and receiving, for the operations team. Successful candidates will have strong proven experience in project management and logistics for a range of commodities and finished goods. This role requires someone who has a deep understanding of industry standards and regulations, particularly dangerous goods (DG), and developing and executing logistics plans to support operational needs. Additionally, this role requires experience managing dynamic projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and book robot delivery from contract manufacturer

  • Domestic and international booking and shipping of robots and related import/export documentation

  • Validation of robots being street ready

  • Allocation of robots for QA, mapping, advertising, deliveries, dev, etc. and propose tools / software to better manage ongoing

  • Work with BD to manage advertising schedule of robots and execution of branding

  • Configure, manage and improve tracking tools

  • Ensuring robots allocated for specific purposes are set up correctly (HW and SW) and coordinate with XF partners to figure out what is needed

  • Analyze and schedule delivery of robots to existing and new markets based on robot utilization

  • Validation of HW / SW specs for each market and which robot will have / has them

  • Develop and lead logistics operations and project management 

  • Travel and support teams in multiple time-zones

  • Analyzing and selecting different multi-modal, domestic, international, and local transportation 

  • Understanding and completing documents including appropriate use and compliance of incoterms, HTS codes, COO, DG, and export/import requirements

  • Manage and optimize logistics of commodities and finished goods to meet schedule and cost targets

  • Freight cost and tariff custom duties audit and payment

  • Ship and receive, including record keeping, inventory tracking, auditing, and reconciling for finance/accounting requirements

Qualifications

  • B.A. in a business field or a combination of equivalent experience and education

  • 5+ years of overall experience including:

    • 5+ years of working in logistics and supply chain role

    • 5+ years of working directly with finance/accounting teams experience

  • Experience managing, growing and scaling a fleet and supporting tools (futureproofing)

  • Experience managing multiple projects and tracking tools

  • Experience managing cross-functional relationships

  • Experience booking logistics (moving goods from one location to another through various modes of transportation) through qualified and vetted vendors, managing timelines and budgets for those shipments

  • Ability to focus on details and see big picture

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and freight forwarders

  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics and consumer electronics

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to work independently and navigate ambiguous situations
