About the role:
As a UI Tech Artist, you will collaborate closely with both art and engineering teams to create visually appealing, functional, and optimized user interfaces for casual game. You will be responsible for implementing UI screen and animations, ensuring they are both aesthetically impressive and technically efficient across various platforms.
The Quest:
Work with product stakeholders and the product team to ensure that the UI supports the meta and gameplay to enhances player experience.
Define and implement innovative solutions for the UI direction and visuals.
Implement high quality game mock-ups in engine.
Drive the visuals from conception, through development and engine implementation in collaboration with engineering.
Document technical processes, guidelines, and best practices related to UI implementation and optimization. Troubleshoot UI-related issues and implement solutions in a timely manner
Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.
The Skills:
4+ years of experience as a UI Designer for video games.
Proficiency in Unity, Unreal or other commercial game engines
Strong illustrative skills applicable to UI design using Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.
Excellent animation skills.
Familiarity with version control systems and collaborative workflows.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members.
Ability to translate wireframes and mock-ups into fun, usable, visually polished UI systems.
Up to date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
Strong cross-functional communication skills: verbal, written, and visual.
Comfortable planning and estimating UI effort for features.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
