Job Description
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to play a crucial role in streamlining our financial processes and tackling a backlog of accounting tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a fast-paced team in the sports entertainment sector, managing diverse financial responsibilities and directly contributing to the company’s success. You’ll use your expertise in Xero to bring our accounts up to date, ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations, and establish efficient ongoing bookkeeping practices. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on challenges and wants to make a significant impact in a growing business.
Responsibilities
Manage and update financial records using Xero accounting software
Reconcile accounts and prepare quarterly activity statements
Assist in catching up on multiple years of backlogged tax returns
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare and lodge tax returns and other financial documents
Requirements
Proficiency in Xero accounting software
Strong understanding of Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements is an advantage
Experience in handling backlogged financial data and tax returns
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
Scope
Role will be up to 40 hours per week initially until backlog is cleared, then ongoing part-time schedule 20 hours per week
