Job Details

The Sr. Director is the primary relationship manager supporting grantee and non-grantee covered entities and serves as a consultant to internal teams within Cencora who are responsible for executing the Enterprise-wide 340B strategy and solutions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serves as key subject matter resource and liaison for the consulting, field sales and business development teams in support of current or prospective covered entity customers who are or are considering 340B program participation

  • As 340B SME, responsible for creating internal training, education, and communications as needed.

2. Relations: Responsible for the development and maintenance of ABC’s 340B Covered Entities and oversight of 340B proactive monitoring programs, market shifts, and competitive intel to support future development and strategy related to 340B

3. Program responsibility and oversight for 340B proactive monitoring programs and solutions designed for covered entities

4. Works directly with internal ABC teams including: Health Systems Sales, Community Retail and Long Term Care (CRLTC), Customer Onboarding, Finance, Credit, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance (CSRA), Corporate Partners, Customer Care, Digital Business Solutions, Technology Enablement and others to:

  • Assist with account set up logistics and communications for covered entities, including Health Information Number (HIN) and Global Locator Number (GLN)

  •  Assist CRLTC and Health Systems account management and corporate partners communicate 340B policy to customers

  • Support 340B new business opportunities with 340B business development lead

  • Ensure a compliant, and best in class 340B service offering and customer experience

  • Proactively identify potential issues and assist with issues resolution and solutions

  • Supports the 340B operations team with internal and external questions related to 340B and covered entity operations

  • Identify innovative new services or technologies that will enhance ABC’s 340B solutions offerings

  • Lead management of growth strategy and expansion programs

  • Collaborates with account management to effectively facilitate communication, education, and campaigns

  • Influence operational and commercial decision making via information sharing and process improvement. 

5. Analytics: Work closely with the 340B analyst to develop and update key reports that support program execution and growth with an emphasis on covered entity sales and profitability and changes related to those sales to provide insights on the 340B strategy.

  • Proactively engage others to develop new reporting tools and models to support initiatives aimed at driving profitability, finding new market opportunities, improving operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, etc. 

6. Project Management: Serves as key team member of cross-functional teams responsible for executing ABC’s Enterprise-wide 340B strategic initiatives, including leadership of growth strategy and marketing workstreams, projects and contractor engagement

7. Government relations:  Monitors 340B policy, legislation, and judicial outcomes to provide insights into the impact of the 340B program on the companies business strategies.

8. Marketing and Communications: Works with Marketing to create intellectual capital materials that establishes AmerisourceBergen as an industry thought leader through trade articles, speaking engagements and sales messaging platforms.  Primary responsibility for communications development of newsletters, articles, webinars, and other 340B content on our public website and internal website in collaboration with 340B Center of Excellence

9. Education: Collaborate with 340B Enterprise Strategy team on the education strategy to develop education and training programs on 340B in collaboration with learning and development to identify the educational needs of Cencora’ various business units and prioritization of educational plans; residency training

10.   May be required to complete and receive a passing score on defined certification course(s) as determined by the VP of 340B Enterprise Strategy.

11.   Performs related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible account management experience; minimum of five (5) years of 340B pharmacy experience, including knowledge of 340B federal and state compliance and regulations and working with Government accounts.

  • Two years in healthcare with relevant 340B related experience

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Significant 340B experience and demonstrated capability to successfully manage a 340B program
2. Completion of 340B University or 340B University onDemand
3. Preferred: completion of the Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate Program (340B ACE)
4. Thorough understanding of a 340B covered entities; preference in non-grantee
5. Understands pharmacy trends and operating assumptions
6. Demonstrated history of operating as a business manager
7. Excellent education and presentation skills; familiarity with learning management systems and curriculum development
8. Excellent organizational skills
9. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
10. Excellent integration, implementation and management skills
11. Excellent interpersonal skills
12. Working knowledge of computers necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
