Our Team: Global Credit Risk Strategy is responsible for assessing, managing, and mitigating the credit risk associated with our financial products and services. Our core competency lies in deep understanding of credit risk management principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies. We work very closely with various departments, including WEX Bank, finance, operations, and compliance, to ensure that our credit risk policies and procedures are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

You have a proven track record of managing credit risk in a financial institution, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining credit risk models, conducting credit risk assessments, monitoring credit risk exposures, and providing recommendations to senior management. The incumbent will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes, and for ensuring that our credit risk management practices are continuously improved. This is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise and a commitment to excellence.
What You Will Do:
Develop and implement credit risk management strategies.
Conduct credit risk assessments for new and existing clients.
Monitor credit risk exposures and provide regular reports to senior management.
Collaborate with finance, operations, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with credit risk policies.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes.
Provide recommendations to senior management on credit risk issues.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to credit risk.
Adhere to credit risk policies and procedures.
Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to assess potential credit risk impacts.
Develop credit risk limits assignment algorithm
Manage credit risk reporting and analytics.
Provide training and support to junior team members on credit risk management practices.
Participate in internal and external audits related to credit risk.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and industry groups.
Identify and mitigate potential credit risk issues before they become significant problems.
Ensure that credit risk management practices are continuously improved.
Support the development of new financial products and services from a credit risk perspective.
Conduct regular reviews of credit risk models and methodologies.
Provide input into the development of the company's overall risk management strategy.
Experience You Will Bring:
Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or other technical field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Experience with credit risk modeling and assessment.
Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science
Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience creating and managing large datasets to organize and extract useful information
Advanced knowledge of Python or R and experience with data science libraries such as lightgbm, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy etc.
Expertise in the machine learning model lifecycle, testing and inference, sampling methods, and supervised learning techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to credit risk.
Proven track record of managing credit risk in a financial institution.
Ability to develop and implement effective credit risk management strategies.
Experience with stress testing and scenario analysis.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience with internal and external audits related to credit risk.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00
