Job Summary
The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of management and administration of their assigned program related to teaching, advising students, program development and effectiveness, clinical/extern site management, internship management, student progression, review and analysis of program data and outcomes, scheduling (student and faculty), student learning outcomes, and retention per company policies and procedures. In support of the company mission, the Program Director works with the faculty and support staff to promote continuous improvement in the quality of instruction through ongoing development, coaching, and training. The Program Director safeguards and upholds the highest standards of compliance with accrediting bodies, state regulators, institutional policies, procedures, and best practices.
Experience Required
● Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
● Must have 3 years of working experience directly in an IT/Cyber field as a practitioner. -- Instructor/Program Director or other educational experience does not count as practical field experience.
● Current, valid licensure where appropriate
PREFERRED:
● Proven track record of leading successful online programs.
● Strong understanding of online learning technologies and instructional design principles.
● Experience teaching in an online environment
● Three years of management experience
Key Responsibilities
● Program Leadership:
○ Oversee the strategic direction, development, and implementation of the IT and Cyber Security online programs.
○ Ensure program alignment with industry standards and evolving technological trends.
○ Monitor program performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
● Curriculum Development and Management:
○ Collaborate with faculty to support and maintain a rigorous and
engaging online curriculum.
○ Ensure curriculum meets accreditation standards and industry best practices.
○ Review and update course materials to reflect current industry trends and technologies.
● Faculty Recruitment and Development:
○ Recruit and hire qualified online faculty members with industry
experience.
○ Lead faculty through observations, feedback, and coaching
○ Provide ongoing professional development and training with faculty to enhance their teaching effectiveness.
○ Foster a collaborative and supportive faculty community.
● Student Success:
○ Partner with Student Services and Career Services Departments to implement effective student support strategies, including academic advising, tutoring, and career counseling.
○ Monitor student progress and intervene proactively to address
challenges and promote student success.
○ Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
● Administrative Duties:
○ Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
○ Prepare reports and other documentation as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Meets all state and accreditor requirements to qualify as an instructor for the corresponding program
● Understanding of adult learning principles evidenced by shown ability to teach/train adult learners
● Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse groups of employees and students.
● Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and ability in administration within an education program
● Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
● Passion for student success and a commitment to providing high-quality education.
● Experience with accreditation standards and compliance requirements
