Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Title: Bookkeeper
Work Schedule:  Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm Brisbane Time
Employment Type: Part-Time



Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to manage essential financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, payroll, invoicing, and tax preparation, with proficiency in Xero and an understanding of Australian financial regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and excellent organizational skills.



Key Responsibilities:
Daily & Weekly Financial Management:
  • Recording Transactions: Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records on a daily basis.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure accuracy in financial records.

  • Accounts Receivable: Generate and send invoices, track payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.

  • Bills & Payments: Enter all bills into Xero, process bill payments on a weekly basis (or as needed), and ensure correct categorization.

Payroll Management:
  • Employee Setup: Add new employees to Xero, ensuring accurate setup of payroll information.

  • Payroll Processing: Handle weekly payroll, including wages, deductions, reimbursements, and bonuses.

  • Compliance: Ensure payroll is processed in accordance with Australian tax laws and superannuation requirements.

Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance:
  • Financial Reports: Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, for business owners.

  • Tax Preparation: Assist with tax filings, BAS submissions, and ensure compliance with Australian tax laws.

  • Audit Readiness: Maintain accurate records to facilitate audits and financial assessments.

CRM & Client Finance Management:
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter fees into the company's CRM and ensure the finance tab for all clients remains updated.

  • Client Accounts: Maintain up-to-date records of client payments and outstanding balances.



Requirements
Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within an Australian business environment.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Xero and familiarity with financial CRMs.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.

  • Communication: Clear and professional communication skills for liaising with internal teams and clients.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies and recommend solutions.

  • Understanding of Australian Financial Regulations: Knowledge of tax, payroll, and invoicing compliance.
