The Enterprise Solutions Development Consultant works with Support Sales in the solution design and development of custom enterprise-wide integrated service programs to external customers, often involving multi-function and multi-vendor efforts.  Works in the pre-sales, collaborative and consultative roles with various service and support sales teams.  These roles include development of custom service support models that meet both customer and Agilent requirements.  In addition to development and pricing, other roles include support/assistance in proposal writing, customer visits as needed, and statement of work development and finalization.  They also translate business needs into technical consulting services and solutions, which improve the performance of client's organization.

This role also:

  • Proactively build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Understand stakeholders needs and provide appropriate feedback within Agilent.

  • Meet customer and stakeholder needs through the understanding and optimization of services.

  • Work closely with various sales/service account teams to meet customer needs and drive sales and margin growth.

  • Assume ownership of tasks, issues, communications and drive effective resolutions.

  • Work with sales and delivery teams to ensure enterprise-wide services and support design and modeling meets both the customer and stakeholder requirements.

  • Participate in assigned projects as a Subject Matter Expert in specialized areas of expertise, e.g. Compliance, Lab Operations, Systems, etc.

  • Demonstrate support of enterprise-wide service products direction

  • Help drive success of all of Agilent services business.

  • Participant in cross-functional teams as assigned

  • Initiate action for problem resolution.

  • Builds partnerships with sales teams membership (both services and instruments) to ensure both revenue and margin growth.

  • Work with Support Sales team, based on subject matter expertise, to increase overall knowledge and effectiveness of the Support Sales team.

Technical Solutions:

Designs, scopes, and develops the technical components of system solutions and/or services.

Integrates Agilent products and services (at the system level) into customer's environment, which may include 3rd party products, enhancements to Agilent products, or defining new Agilent product or service offerings to meet client requirements such as operational optimization of the customized solution.

Is accountable for the technical validity and interoperability of solutions.

Proficient using Excel with large data sets

Education:

Is responsible for the delivery (instruction, mentoring, and consulting) of customer educational services in assigned business segments (core business/solution business).

Translates client's educational requirements into single seminars, customized solutions or projects, which improve the effectiveness/intellectual capital of customers.

Develops customized solutions to match client's needs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree or University Degree or equivalent.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Laboratory instrument service and maintenance experience.

  • Knowledge of laboratory relocation requirements.

  • Contracted third party/vendor service provider management and relationship experience.

  • Ability to work in a supportive and collaborative role for both service and sales teams.

  • Knowledge of  laboratory instrument service and maintenance business (process & financial).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Understanding of customer contracting and scope of work (SOW) development.

  • Knowledge of design, modeling, and pricing of lab instrument service and maintenance programs.

  • Basic GMP and GLP understanding is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Quality process improvement is preferred.

  • Basic project management skills or training.  Experience preferred.

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $93,760.00 - $175,800.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
