The OpportunityThe Senior Corporate Accounting Manager will help lead our Corporate Accounting organization, including overseeing the implementation of system enhancements and identifying and implementing best practices in financial reporting, corporate accounting and consolidations.
This role is critical to collaborating with finance team members worldwide to achieve corporate objectives and contribute to the professional development of finance team members.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading system and process improvement across the organization, especially driving the Company’s implementation of NetSuite Muti-Book.
- Accountable for corporate accounting, financial reporting, NetSuite management and serving as a liaison to department managers in connection with achieving corporate objectives.
- Research and prepare technical accounting memos to support unique financial transactions.
- Research and evaluate business activities to determine appropriate GAAP treatment.
- Develop centralized accounting policies and procedures to maintain and enhance internal controls.
- Drive the implementation and enhancement of tools and technology in partnership with our systems team.
- Provide critical input to senior finance team members regarding the operational performance of the finance team, including recommendations for action and collaboratively developing operating policies and procedures to enable the attainment of corporate and business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Sales, Legal, and Operations.
- Develop and report key operational metrics.
- Support all M&A finance operations integrations.
- Lead the efforts for international expansions for finance.
- Lead, motivate, develop, and retain a high-quality team.
- Serve as a strategic business advisor and prepare ad hoc reports and special analyses to facilitate management's ability to understand business issues and drivers.
- Liaison with external auditors and tax service providers.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 7+ years of relevant experience, including a mix of
- Audit experience with a Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting firm (minimum 3 years)
- Multinational corporate accounting experience (software/SaaS industry experience is preferred).
- Experience driving systems implementations
- Experience with NetSuite required
- Implementation experience with NetSuite Multi-book (preferred)
- Experience with Commission and Sales plans a plus
- Experience with Captivate or Exactly a plus
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Strong control mindset ability to identify risks to financial reporting and the company and experience with Floqast (or another close/reconciliation management tool)
- Extensive experience in global consolidations, inter-company transactions, and foreign currency translation and re-measurement.
- Experience managing, mentoring and coaching a team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and solutions.
Location
Remote - US - Austin preferred.
Compensation
The annual anticipated U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is USD 120,000.00 - 150,000.00. Additionally, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commissions. Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience and competencies.
In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than the job description as posted. Salary is one component of MariaDB’s total rewards package, which (subject to eligibility requirements) may include equity ownership, health insurance, life and disability insurance, funds toward professional development resources, Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, and parental leave, just to name a few!
