Role
OSC is seeking an experienced Bid Coordinator to become a member of its team. The candidate must demonstrate bid experience, to effectively come into the company from day one and âhit the ground runningâ by understanding how the bid process works. The Bid Coordinator must have a proven track record of winning bids, but not necessarily be familiar with OSCâs area of expertise. The Bid Coordinator needs to effectively âconduct the OSC orchestra of virtuoso scientists like a Maestro, bringing the team together to win exciting and interesting tenders in the marine sector.

The Bid Coordinator will focus on £10,000 to <£1 million bids and participate in delivery of the sector strategy and associated bookings target. The role involves assisting the OSC worldwide team (based predominantly in the UK), supporting a culture of bidding best practice to improve win rate. The Bid Coordinator will take an active bid-management role, including, inter alia, client pre-positioning, demonstrating clear consistent adherence to the documented process, including robust bid decisions, meeting kick-offs, answer planning sessions, reviews, commercial reviews, governance process, presentation materials, rehearsals and lessons learned, and debriefs, etc. The successful candidate will be empowered to seek assistance from the senior team of OSCâs consultants and scientists, as and when required. This is a highly senior role within the firm, liaising closely with its three Directors, and PhD-qualified Principal consultants.

Responsibilities:
- Support all OSCâs core services, to ensure opportunities are recorded accurately, pursued actively, and maximised to support fee conversion;
- Support a continuous improvement cycle across the team resulting in improved bidding and the overall win rate of the team exceeding 50%;
- Obtain information on the reason for the win/loss for all bids managed and feedback to the sector bid manager;
- Embrace the team training programme to address individual needs;
- Support campaign management working alongside the marketing team to support strategic/must win bids; and,
- Support new initiatives to drive bidding effectiveness.

Qualifications:
- Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) foundation-accredited, to demonstrate adherence to industry best practices in bidding (desired);
- Any of the three APMP levels of accreditation, foundation, practitioner, and professional (desired);
- Any APMP micro-certifications, e.g. graphics (CF GR-M APMP); and,
- Proficient InDesign skills.
