Job description

Your mission
The Applications team builds, maintains, and operates solutions which collect high quality sensor data on big freight and offshore ships via an IoT device. The data logged on ships is then available to our customers via SCADA, web and other applications on board. Moreover, we support our service technicians and customers in case of issues in our on-board solutions. 
  • Development and maintenance of the software stack running on our IoT device(s) on board including the operating system
  • Troubleshooting in case of operational issues as well as bug fixing
Your profile
We are looking for an expert who is based in Germany. It is required that you are fluent in English. Good knowledge of German is optional but desirable.  
  • Relevant university degree in computer engineering or a related field and/or profound professional experience
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with Linux based operating systems and Linux system programming
  • Solid programming skills in Python, Bash, C/C++. Knowledge in C# and/or Go is a plus
  • Familiar with Message Queue Protocols like MQTT, AMQP etc.
  • Familiar with containerization solutions like Docker, Podman
  • Familiar with Git, CI/CD pipelines like Bamboo etc.
  • Strong analytical and pragmatic mindset
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Customer-centric and quality-conscious way of working
