Metal Toad is an award-winning AWS Consulting Partner and AWS Managed Services provider company based in the USA. We help our customers with their cloud adoption by providing architecture, migration, optimization, machine learning, and even 24x7 support. We are a professional services firm providing services in software engineering and the cloud. We do Technical consulting, Programming and Quality Assurance, DevOps, Applications, UX, Product management, and Project management.

Metal Toad is a fully remote organization with all employees having the option to work from home. The candidate must be able to work between 8 AM and 5 PM Pacific Time (PST) from Monday through Friday.

Advanced to fluent proficiency in English is a must for our positions since it is the language we communicate at the company.


Job Description


The UX Designer position at Metal Toad is focused on user-centered design and facilitation. You will help guide the direction of the experience with an end-user perspective as part of a diverse team of software developers. You will also build relationships while working with a cross-disciplinary team and partner groups to set priorities towards meaningful design solutions to meet end user and business goals within technical constraints.



Responsibilities 

  • Framing and solving hard design challenges
  • Distill user research, competitive analysis, and feedback into user-centered design goals.
  • Help teams empathize with users and advocate for the usability and accessibility of products.
  • Apply psychological principles, ergonomics, and cognitive science to design holistic experiences for various abilities, motivations, and needs.
  • To use low-fidelity wireframes, interaction behavior, and other visual representations to determine how to use a product in an emotional and resonant manner.
  • Prototyping representative models of a product or feature for testing to get user feedback, assist with development decisions, and mitigate risk—these range from paper or click-throughs to higher-fidelity prototypes.
  • Apply and assist in establishing a set of design standards, documentation, and principles that are used alongside a design system of design interactions, patterns, and scalable components to build a product.
  • Organize, label, and structure content in a way that is understandable for users to allow them to find and move through information and complete tasks.
  • Ensure all versions of project UX/UI documents are updated and properly stored.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to gather and evaluate user and business requirements and ensure the best delivery for our clients.
  • Clearly and confidently present all documentation to internal teams and clients.

  • Experience with Miro or any other whiteboard tool

Nice to have

  • Experience with video editing
  • Familiar with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS design capabilities
