Job description

About Us
Barkbus is the nation's premier mobile dog grooming company. We are dog-loving creatives and entrepreneurs using a tech-driven startup approach to disrupt and modernize the industry. Driven by our mission to bring convenience and luxury to pet parents, we're proud to have nearly 200 vans on the road in California, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. We have no plans to slow down our expansion and would love for you to join us in building the next modern national pet brand!

About This Role

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Barkbus, you will play a critical role in building high-performing teams that drive our nationwide growth and embody our mission to end traumatic trips to the salon. Partnering closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager, you’ll lead full-cycle corporate recruiting across key departments, including Operations, Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, and Marketing.

In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with department leaders to define hiring needs, craft tailored sourcing strategies, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. Leveraging your expertise and a deep understanding of Barkbus’s tech-forward, pet-loving culture, you’ll oversee every step of the recruitment process—from cultivating diverse talent pipelines to negotiating and extending final offers. Your efforts will directly contribute to assembling the teams that power Barkbus’s continued success and expansion.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Drive full-cycle recruitment efforts by proactively sourcing and engaging high-caliber passive talent for corporate roles, including Operations, Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, and Marketing.

  • Leverage LinkedIn Recruiter with advanced Boolean search techniques to source high-potential talent and design multi-step, hyper-personalized InMail campaigns specifically aimed at converting prospects into interviews, achieving exceptional acceptance rates.

  • Conduct in-depth virtual interviews, using a blend of technical and behavior-based questions to attract, assess, and hire top-tier talent that aligns with Barkbus’s values.

  • Collaborate with department leaders to create precise, compelling job descriptions that clearly outline role requirements while reflecting Barkbus's values and culture to attract the right talent.

  • Lead strategic kickoff calls with hiring managers to assess hiring needs and timelines, refine job specifications, align on ideal candidate profiles, and ensure recruitment efforts contribute to the team’s long-term growth and success.

  • Coordinate interviews across diverse teams and multiple time zones, leveraging Ashby’s intuitive scheduling features to ensure timely execution and deliver a seamless, positive candidate and hiring manager experience.

  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline and optimize recruiting workflows, ensuring scalable, efficient, and high-impact recruitment processes.

Who You Are

  • You are relentless. You have the determination and grit to keep working on a problem as new challenges emerge while maintaining the flexibility to adjust plans or strategies as needed.

  • No task is too big or too small. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and work at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and big-picture.

  • Thoughtful attention to detail. Every action you take is driven by a strategic plan that helps dictate your decisions.

  • Data-Driven & Results-Oriented. You’re passionate about using metrics to guide decisions, constantly seeking ways to refine processes and enhance the candidate experience.

  • Empathetic Communicator. You can build rapport quickly with both candidates and hiring managers, delivering clear, transparent communication at every stage.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be both a people and dog lover!

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally within a high-growth startup environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience preferred but not required).

  • Demonstrated expertise with LinkedIn Recruiter, including advanced Boolean search strategies and filtering techniques.

  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (Ashby experience is a strong plus).

  • Proven ability to leverage recruitment data to inform and refine hiring strategies.

  • Thrives in dynamic, fast-paced startup environments.

  • Skilled at managing multiple requisitions and meeting deadlines under pressure.

  • Strong analytical abilities coupled with creative problem-solving skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary: $80K-$95K, based on experience

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance.

  • Retirement Savings Plan to support your future.

  • Pet Insurance to keep your furry friends healthy.

  • Monthly cell phone stipend to stay connected.
