Job description

 

Eaton’s Industrial Controls Division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer.  This is a hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote) position based at our Menomonee Falls, WI location. 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

We are seeking an innovative problem-solver to lead mechanical and electrical testing development for the Industrial Control Division. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic global team to design and improve manufacturing test equipment and capabilities. You will support tester development activities for new product introduction projects and experience the excitement of bringing new products to life from design concept through to production launch.

The Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer is a specialized professional with electrical, automation and programming skills to lead tester development and validation for new product launches and other division led product testing related projects. The role is responsible for creating manufacturing validation test specifications, for the execution of complex assembly test and diagnostics for new equipment purchased for new products, and for providing trouble-shooting support for ICD test equipment. The Test Engineer will collaborate with other functions and suppliers to assure test equipment meets engineering requirements and can be delivered on-time while meeting safety, quality, and cost expectations. In addition, they will:

  • Design and industrialize test and automation processes, equipment, and fixtures for the validation of manufacturing quality.
  • Support the optimization of new and existing manufacturing’s testing processes and procedures.
  • Develop tester specifications and test procedures; collaborate with test equipment integrators and NPI product engineer on test equipment design and construction.
  • Support set-up and validation new test equipment and drive tester readiness for launch of NPI production.
  • Assure test equipment meets expected performance; support troubleshooting and tester-related yield issues.
  • Create and deploy standard work and training for manufacturing test related processes.
  • Support and collaborate with plant Test Engineering leads.
  • Track capital expenditures and forecasts for NPD test equipment.
Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered.  
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with statistical quality tools, such as, capability studies and gage R&Rs
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certification
  • Experience in new product development and industrialization
  • Experience working in or with Plant Operations
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, quality management processes, and project management
  • Experience with industrial control components, motor controls and circuit protections
  •  Experience in PLC or PC based software environments for machine control, developing software solutions (PLC, NI LabVIEW, TestStand, and test scripts)

  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Electrical and Mechanical safety knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Ability to lead teams
