As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in translating strategic goals into actionable business plans. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you’ll manage initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with business needs and delivering meaningful results.
The role
- Develop robust business cases for complex or large-scale projects, providing data-driven recommendations to guide decisions.
- Analyse insights from diverse data sources to identify key trends and their potential business impact.
- Evaluate development opportunities to ensure they are both viable and feasible.
- Translate business needs into innovative solutions, leading improvement initiatives at the business unit level.
- Monitor emerging trends and assess their relevance and potential value to the organization.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders, acting as a strategic partner to support their goals.
- Manage a portfolio of major projects, ensuring alignment with project management frameworks and organizational priorities.
- Create and oversee project plans, ensuring appropriate resources and activities are in place to achieve objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend solutions to meet complex business needs.
- Drive stakeholder engagement by understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and fostering clear communication.
Who are you?
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- Education: A Master’s degree or equivalent level of experience.
- Experience: At least 6-10 years of relevant professional experience, with prior exposure to strategy consulting or similar roles as a plus. Experience supervising junior colleagues is also valued (7-12 months).
- Skills: Strong strategic thinking, advanced analytical abilities, excellent communication, stakeholder management, and the ability to navigate complex situations with sound decision-making.
Key competencies: Balancing stakeholders, business insights, effective communication, managing complexity, decision quality, organizational savvy, and strategic alignment.
