Residency Requirements: Strongly prefer residents of Indiana. May consider residents of surrounding states (MI, OH, KY, or IL)
The REMOTE Lead Counselor utilizes leadership, advocacy and collaboration, the Lead Counselor is responsible for promoting student success by providing preventive services and responding to identified needs through implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program that helps guide all learners in their academic success, personal and social development, and career and college planning

This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

- Works with the Counseling Department to ensure that an Individualized Learning Plan is implemented for each student in the school
- Supports counselors within the department to ensure their completion of job duties
- Delivers individual and group guidance curriculum supporting student development
- Provides responsive services to individuals or groups on academic and personal issues
- Provides a support system that strengthens the efforts of teachers, staff, and parents
- Mentors and supports counselors, providing coaching and formal evaluation; strives to proactively address identified needs and supports efforts to improve students’ performance
- Organizes, manages, and evaluates effective and clear programmatic procedures for the operation and function of the counseling program.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 3-5 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree AND
- 3+ years of advising, teaching, or School Guidance Counselor experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications:
- Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Ability to clear required background check
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating academically oriented clubs and extracurricular activities
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g., database and web-based tools)
- An ability to support and guide adults as well as students
