We are looking for a GIS Technician to join our team. The GIS Technician performs technical geographic information system input, including editing and system analysis, to produce a wide variety of maps, reports and other projects; operate and maintain the geographic information system data base, software and hardware; and do other related work as required.
Major Responsibilities:
Assist in maintenance and updating of ENMAX’s Power Distribution System’s infrastructure assets using ArcGIS/ArcFM
Modify and maintain a variety of databases specifically related to ENMAX electrical assets
Interpret and integrate relevant data from multiple sources, ie. maps, engineering drawings
Adheres and contributes to data quality processes and procedures
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Maintain effective working relationship with co-workers
Assist other system users in accessing GIS database
Education Required:
Qualifications & Experience:
3+ years of related GIS experience is considered an asset
Experience with ESRI software, specifically the ArcGIS suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox) and its extensions
Experience with Schneider Electric’s ArcFM software is considered an asset
Ability to perform GIS data conversion/editing, map production, spatial data management, and spatial analysis
Strong understanding of current GIS concepts and practices
Basic understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS)

Proven team player displaying high-initiative and dynamic ability to meet client needs
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a wide variety of issues and multiple projects
Exceptional attention to detail abilities which are needed to ensure that our GIS Data is accurate and reliable

Salary: Drafter Level C (Current CUPE 2025 rates)
$84,390.85 - $89,667.76 - $94,944.67- $100,221.58 - $105,498.48
Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
