The mission for the Engineering Ecosystem Org at Oportun is to be the force-multiplicative Org that empowers engineers to deliver member value with high-speed and high-quality. Teams in this Org play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge software solutions that power our mission and advance our business. We strike a balance between leveraging leading tools and developing in-house solutions to create member experiences that empower their financial independence. As a Senior Staff Engineer at Oportun, you will lead the transformation of the Engineering Platform, Systems and Processes, and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, high-throughput foundational services and libraries.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to help re-architect, re-design, build, and maintain our platform and associated services. This role will have significant impact on the success of Oportun's new platform we are building to help serve as a force-multiplier to the company. We are seeking a highly experienced software engineer who has built or continues to build large scale fault-tolerant distributed systems. The ideal candidate for this role will have significant experience in re-architecting a company's entire platform and services.
