We’re looking for a passionate and driven Sustainability Manager. This individual contributor role will fill in for the Director of Sustainability while they are on parental leave. The coverage timeframe is March through July 2025 with an average of 30 hours per week. There is a high possibility of continuing this important work with reduced hours beyond this critical coverage period.
The Sustainability Manager will lead vital programs and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure Grove's commitments to plastic neutrality, best-in-class sustainability reporting, and corporate responsibility are upheld and strengthened, maintaining and advancing our position as an industry leader in sustainability.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DOPlastic Reporting & LeadershipGrove is a leader in moving the CPG industry away from single-use plastic. Our product assortment is thousands of products, and growing! We report on plastic and other sustainability metrics for each product we sell. You will help us do the following:
Maintain accurate sustainability metrics, such as our plastic footprint, plastic intensity, and more, to uphold Grove’s commitment to transparency and progressDeliver quarterly updates to key stakeholders on key metrics and progress toward plastic reduction goalsSupport customer-facing initiatives such as Beyond Plastic badging and manage the data feeding into Grove’s industry-first Impact Tracker (grove.co/impact)
Cross-Functional Collaboration:Although this is an individual contributor role, you will play a key role in influencing cross-function teams.
Partner with marketing, creative, product innovation, and merchandising teams to integrate sustainability into company-wide initiativesEnsure that Grove’s sustainability values and initiatives are represented across all customer touch points

Collaborate with internal teams and Grove suppliers to develop a plan to meet Grove’s Science Based Targets.Lead work in reporting to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), ensuring timely, accurate, and comprehensive disclosures that align with Grove’s sustainability commitments and industry best practices.ABOUT YOUExperience: 3+ years in sustainability, corporate responsibility, ESG, or a related field. Experience in consumer goods or e-commerce is a plus.Subject Matter Expertise: Strong knowledge of plastic and packaging sustainability is essential to support Grove's best-in-class plastic reporting, ensuring accurate and impactful measurement and communication of progress.Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data and sustainability metrics.
