Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI) is the premier certification body responsible for global delivery and quality oversight of green building and green business sustainability standards. Its integrated team of green building specialists administers credentials and certifications for the U.S. Green Building Council (LEED), the International WELL Building Institute (WELL Building Standard), International Finance Corporation (EDGE), PEER, SITES, TRUE Zero Waste, and IREE.
Our Finance team is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable (AR) Associate who will be responsible for managing and resolving customer inquiries, ensuring accuracy in customer records, and taking appropriate actions on customer account to support the business. This position is responsible for, among other things, the settlement of customer payments for USGBC’s various revenue streams, upkeep of the accounts receivable general ledger accounts and troubleshooting Accounts Receivable related transactions.
This role is approved for remote work within the United States.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Daily settlement of customer payments via wire/ACH/check.
- Research of unknown payments to identify appropriate payer and settle correct invoice(s)
- Research credit card payment issues.
- Process customer refunds
- Accounts Receivable related journal entries and reconciliations
- Edit customer invoices as requested
- Create manual invoices as requested
- Continual monitoring of Accounts Receivable email inbox and respond to customer inquiries promptly
- Continual monitoring of Salesforce Billing queue to ensure cases are resolved and/or directed to appropriate AR team member
- Manage the Finance piece of Vendor Registration and work with both internal and external customers to ensure correct information is supplied in timely manner
- Assist in FYE audit as directed
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing in SAP projects specific to Accounts Receivable
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounts receivable processes and improve efficiency
- Support various A/R and finance related projects when requested
Education & Training Requirements/Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in accounts receivable and procedures a must
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel
- Experience working with Salesforce a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be a self-starter, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure and/or with frequent interruptions
- Proven experience delivering superior customer service in an utmost professional manner
- Willingness to be mentored, trained and mature professionally
