The EDI Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the electronic data interchange (EDI) program to ensure the timely, accurate and consistent receipt and transformation of 4-5+ million EDI insurance policy documents per month for approximately 800+ lenders and from 1,300+ participating vehicle and property insurance writing companies. Key responsibilities include front-line EDI support for trading partners and internal teams, monitoring and proactively identifying and addressing data flow and transformation errors, auditing, data analysis, and implementation support.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Program management (40%)
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the EDI program to ensure the timely, accurate and consistent receipt and transformation of 4-5 million EDI insurance policy documents per month from 1,300 participating vehicle and property insurance writing companies.
- Maintains and troubleshoots insurance carrier remittance information for accurate and timely escrowed premium payments on behalf of lenders.
- Responsible for identifying continual insurance carrier status changes including rating changes, and for promptly updating the tracking system table accordingly.
- Maintains and updates documentation of EDI processes, exception handling, configurations, and procedures for reference, cross-training and auditing purposes.
- Assists with configuration and maintenance for the transmission and transformation of insurance policy and escrow billing and payment data both from and to our EDI trading partners.
- Seeks opportunities and implements plans to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Supports the EDI Analyst(s) and other business units to activate new clients/products including encryption/decryption, and other technical configurations.
Analysis and auditing ( 20%)
- Performs data analysis and audits to increase EDI transaction volumes to minimize operating costs and maximize data accuracy.
- Performs unit testing and integration testing.
- Troubleshoots tier one technical and data-accuracy issues to minimize disruptions in business processes and downstream costs.
- Continually monitors technical business processes and proactively identifies and addresses data flow and transformation errors and discrepancies within knowledge. Escalates to the EDI Analyst(s) and/or leadership as needed for resolution.
- Utilizes and writes SQL queries.
Tier One Support (20%)
- Responsible for front-line EDI “help desk” support to EDI trading partners, other departments, and the sales field.
- Assist other departments and trading partners to resolve escrow billing, payment, and other issues
- Supports maintaining and growing strong relationships with EDI trading partners and internal customers.
- Creates Technical Reporting by writing and running SQL queries to create easy-to-understand ad hoc reports.
Coaching and training (20%)
- Executes on difficult tasks requiring advanced knowledge and/or skills.
- Trains and mentors with respect to reconciliations, EDI inbound and outbound traffic flow monitoring, data-alteration workarounds, and audits.
- Creates standard requested data/statistics for inbound and outbound insurance data flows inclusive of inputs beyond EDI.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
High school diploma or GED required.
3-4 years of work-related experience required.
Financial, Property & Casualty Insurance, and/or Technical experience required.
Manipulating, analyzing, transforming, and repackaging data experience required.
XML, EDI X12, SQL, FTP setup, and/or Encryption/Decryption process experience preferred .
