The Team
Upstart’s Lending Partnership team is dedicated to providing innovative solutions to lenders by helping households grow, expanding consumer lending, enabling safe lending to more creditworthy borrowers, and delivering a modern, all-digital experience. Our mission is to increase access to capital through strong partnerships with lending institutions.
As a Senior Product Manager, Lending Partnerships at Upstart, you’ll be part of the team charged with helping lending partners take advantage of our unique technology to achieve their business goals. Our products range from end-to-end AI-enabled origination platforms to APIs that allow banks to integrate our technology into their existing systems and workflows. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for one or more portions of these products, including KPIs and strategy, as well as execution. You own prioritization, definition, and delivery of important features that affect all parts of the borrower and lending partner experience.
How you’ll make an impact
- You’ll define the vision and strategy for our lender-facing products. What should we focus on, why, and when?
- You’ll understand the needs of lending partners and define and build new solutions to meet their needs
- You’ll work closely with our implementations, customer success, account management, marketing and sales teams to identify and prioritize new and valuable tool and process improvements.
- You’ll launch features on a regular basis in conjunction with the engineering team
Minimum Qualifications
- 5-10 years experience in a product management role focused on financial products, with demonstrated success partnering with an engineering team to deliver critical initiatives.
- Ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization, from C-level to individual contributors
- Ability to manage and influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.
- Experience building online financial products, and/or knowledge of the consumer finance market.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment, and to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends; excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
- Experience with product management and software development using an Agile development methodology
- Strong familiarity with banking and credit union industry and core processing solutions.
Position location This role is available in the following locations: Remote
Time zone requirements The team operates on the East/West coast time zones.
Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.
