About This Role
Axsome Therapeutics is seeking an Associate Director, Consumer Marketing to play a critical role in the launch of a new therapy for Alzheimer’s Disease Agitation (ADA)). Reporting to the Senior Director of Consumer Marketing, the Associate Director, Consumer Marketing, Alzheimer’s Disease Agitation will play a key role in contributing to the design, development, and implementation of both branded and unbranded consumer strategies and tactical initiatives that support patients throughout their journey. This role will also lead work with our strategic agency of record, media agency and extended agency partners.
The Associate Director, Consumer Marketing, Alzheimer’s Disease Agitation works collaboratively and cross functionally with HCP Marketing, Patient Support Services, Market Research, Market Access, Data & Market Analytics, Legal, Regulatory and Medical, as well as other internal and external partners. The Associate Director, Consumer Marketing, Alzheimer’s Disease Agitation will ensure success in the development of consumer strategy, positioning, segmentation, omni channel execution, creative development, media planning, measurement/analytics performance and optimizations.
This role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with an on-site requirement of at least three days per week. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote roles.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and develop the consumer strategic and tactical plan for ADA
- Collaborate with external agencies, internal partners, and leadership to build, manage, and execute marketing plans to achieve business objectives and goals
- Manage strategy and project development of an omni-channel digital strategy for brand awareness, acquisition, and conversion initiatives through a variety of channels which may include CRM, in-office, print, SEM, mobile, broadcast TV, radio, programmatic, and social. Evaluate the effectiveness of campaign strategies through campaign measurement and metrics development to ensure positive return on investment and achieve brand objective
- Help patients better manage their condition through improved patient experiences
- Effectively track and manage the marketing budget
- Champion the Brand Ambassador Program by working directly with patients to highlight their unique stories across various channels
- Lead the measurement and optimization of campaigns across digital channels
- Champion initiatives through medical, legal, regulatory review process
Requirements / Qualifications
- BA or BS degree required, MBA or master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years of consumer marketing experience with heavy experience in omni-channel marketing, media, with the ideal candidate having broadcast and media planning leadership experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical consumer marketing
- CNS disease experience and/or launch experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work on-site Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We are unable to consider candidates who are looking for fully remote role
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- High competency in core marketing capabilities such as creative development, positioning, & optimization across the marketing mix
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including timeline and budget management
- Ability to understand medical/clinical aspects of a pharmaceutical product and its application to the consumer marketing strategy and tactical execution
- Excellent communication (oral, written, and presentation) and people skills
- Experience working with and managing multiple external agencies
- Understanding of media platforms/channels, their applications, and measurement
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Salary and Benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this role is $160,000 - $190,000. We encourage candidates of all levels to apply as there may be flexibility on final job title and responsibilities. The salary offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
