Job description

We are seeking a Senior Client Accounting Manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our team. This is a supervisory role managing a team to deliver excellent service to clients ranging from SME business owners to Finance-Admin SME staff and assist with their Singapore accounting, GST, tax, operational finance and payroll matters. In doing so, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing the accounting service fees under your care.

You will be helping and training 2 Assistant Client Managers with their interpersonal and communication skills in handling their portfolio of clients. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with your own portfolio of key clients.

You will be working alongside the Senior Production Manager to help with finalising jobs and tasks, and assist in training and helping a team of junior accountants and bookkeepers based both in Singapore and in our Philippines office. In this regard, the ideal candidate should have sound technical knowledge, be task-driven, but also have an ability to work with other accountants and bookkeepers, helping and guiding them technically.

This is a full-time position with a 100% remote working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:
    Sales and Onboarding:
    • Lead weekly Sales and Onboarding meeting to track leads, prospects, new client onboarding, annual renewals and fee negotiations of existing customers, and accounts receivable monitoring assisted by a Client Administrative Assistant
    • Help and train 2 Assistant Client Managers with interpersonal and selling skills and assist them in ensuring customer success of their portfolio of clients
    • Prospect, quote, onboard new customers and identify suitable Xero-integrated apps or solutions (point-of-sales, inventory, payments, payroll) for accounting automation
    • Drive and lead migration work, managing production team members to complete
    • Identify opportunities to provide more value and services to the customers, translating to higher fees and upsell of services

    Production of Deliverables:
    • Work with Production Manager, helping to finalise jobs and tasks prepared by the accountants and bookkeepers
    • Train and develop the technical skills of junior staff members, helping and teaching them with all aspects of financial statements preparation, tax computation, accounting, GST, and payroll processing
    • Assist in standardisation of firms Standard Operating Procedures through active observation and feedback of internal gaps and practices
    • Perform final review and disseminate monthly management accounts to your own key clients using Xero cloud accounting ecosystem and its integrated solutions
    • Perform final review of monthly or quarterly GST submissions for your own key clients
    • Perform final review of workpapers, annual unaudited financial statements and tax computation of your own key clients
    • Ensure all timelines and reporting deadlines are adhered to
    • Ensure good client feedback and customer satisfaction
    • Communicate complex technical information to customers and other stakeholders
Requirements: 
  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant working experience preferably from a professional services firm in Assurance/Accounting/Outsourcing/Client Accounting environment serving SME clients
  • Experience in leading and managing at least 3 to 5 team members
  • Minimum Diploma in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA etc.)
  • A self motivated and proactive mindset, able to make suggestions on the improvement of the firm, and generate initiatives on your own.
  • A high level of interpersonal or communication skills. The ideal candidate should be a good leader, be results and outcomes driven but with great people skills
  • Have the ability to be an extremely good communicator of complex technical information into simple client centric language
  • A natural people person and love working with and dealing with clients problems, and teaching and mentoring junior staff members
  • Experience preparing Singapore Financial Statements, Singapore Tax Computation with good knowledge in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, tax laws, GST and CPF
  • A knack and interest in testing and rolling out new software and tech solutions. A comfortable digital native.
  • Training on accounting software and integrated apps will be provided, however prior experience with Xero accounting software is preferred
