Job Summary:

A U.S.-based company that is creating an all-encompassing AI content creation and management system for modern GTM teams, is looking for a Fullstack engineer with experience in building products in the telephony/VoIP space. The company is helping businesses to create trustworthy, clear-cut, and effective AI-based solutions that foster marketing innovation. The company has managed to secure more than $20mn during its Series A round of funding.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Engineer with a strong background in telephony and VoIP to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building products around telephony systems and optimizing various aspects of call handling and voice processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that interface with telephony and VoIP technologies.
• Integrate and optimize APIs, specifically working with OAI, Elevenlabs, Deepgram, and FreeSWITCH.
• Build robust and scalable products focused on telephony, optimizing switch time, reducing bridge-to-connect time, and improving voicemail detection accuracy.
• Utilize state-of-the-art industry practices, including OS libraries, to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to telephony systems and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Node/Typescript development
• Proven experience in telephony and VoIP, including building products around these technologies.
• Hands-on experience with FreeSWITCH or similar telephony platforms.
• Proficiency in optimizing switch time and reducing bridge-to-connect time.
• Experience in reducing false positive/negative rates in voicemail detection.
• Familiarity with best/SOTA industry practices, including the use of OS libraries.
• Strong programming skills in languages commonly used in backend development.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with OAI API, Elevenlabs, and Deepgram.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and telecommunication standards.
• Prior experience in a similar role within the telecommunication industry.
