Job Title: IT Director of Security & Compliance (100% Remote)

Job Summary:
Our IT Director of Security & Compliance plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's assets, data, and operations by developing and implementing comprehensive security and compliance strategies, leading a dedicated team, and ensuring the efficient management of resources. The role is responsible for developing and managing, auditing and enforcing information systems cyber security, including disaster recovery, database protection and software development in compliance with AiM’s security policies, applicable law, vendor management and security incident management. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Establish and/or maintain an information security strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives to guide the establishment and/or ongoing management of the information security program.
  • Identify internal and external influences on the organization (e.g., emerging technologies, social media, business environment, risk tolerance, regulatory requirements, third-party considerations, threat landscape) to ensure that these factors are continually addressed by the information security and compliance strategy.
  • Define, communicate, and monitor information security responsibilities throughout the organization (e.g., data owners, data custodians, end users, privileged or high-risk users) and lines of authority.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of security analysts and professionals and assign tasks, set goals, and monitor performance to ensure the security team operates effectively.
  • Manage our response to security incidents and ensure that they are appropriately addressed, documented, and reported with internal and external entities.
  • Coordinate response efforts during security incidents, ensuring minimal impact and rapid resolution. Develop and maintain an incident response plan to handle security breaches and incidents effectively.
  • Ensure that risk assessments, vulnerability assessments and threat analyses are conducted consistently, at appropriate times, and to identify and assess risk to the organization’s information, and to improve response and capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain integration among the incident response plan, business continuity plan and disaster recovery plan.
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Promote security awareness and educate employees on security best practices.
  • Serve as a key member of the Technology Organization's Leadership Team.
  • Regular and consistent attendance and availability.
  • Other duties, special projects and/or aspects may be assigned/requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Has full supervisory responsibility for medium to large groups of usually skilled and highly skilled employees.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in application security, information risks, and developing security threat solutions.
  • 7+ years of experience with AWS and Azure including implementing best practices while also leveraging Defender for Cloud and end points.  Significant experience with Azure a plus.
  • Proficiency with firewalls, endpoint security, mobility management, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security and IT risk management program.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk assessment methodologies, and threat landscape analysis required.
  • Self-motivation with a strong affinity for vision setting, strategic problem solving, and driving action.
  • Ability to partner with our Principal Data Architect to establish best practices and data governance to meet our client compliance.
  • Working knowledge of M365, other PC applications, ability to adapt to new technology as it becomes available.  
  • Ability to excel in a team environment required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills required with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to source, disseminate and properly apply secondary research.

Travel:
Occasional overnight travel.
