The SRE position at Accelya is comprised of many facets.  It requires an individual who has a broad range of experience, from system/environment administration to DevOps to even certain areas of application development.  Application installation, configuration and maintenance of our Accelya Offer/Order platform, APM and monitoring tools are a key area of focus and responsibility.  As this is a support position, a high amount of technical troubleshooting prowess is needed to diagnose problem areas and find root cause in accordance with strict SLAs behind airline systems that control flight operations.

To bring value to the position, a potential team member should possess a high degree of self-ownership.  This is part in parcel with the extraordinary SLA requirements, and overall culture of fast and efficient implementation.  Therefore, any candidate should apply their skillsets in a manner consistent with leadership expectations and process/procedures to ensure quality work.  Inclusive of doing quality work would be solid communication abilities around technical subject matter to technical and non-technical audiences.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of operation of our highly available, scalable, SaaS platform hosted exclusively in AWS. As a member of cloud ops-sec team, you will be the escalation point from the initial triaging teams for the AWS environment / platform.
  • Analyze and diagnose problem areas related to the AWS platform, system level (Windows and/or Linux) and basic networking level stemming from incidents in the Accelya Offer/Order platform.
  • Strong cloud networking experience required: VPCs, TGWs, DXCs, ACLs, SGs, VPNs.
  • Primary point for administration for AWS, through process/procedure and build out of library of infrastructure as a code.
  • Install, configure, maintain and support APM and monitoring tools such as DataDog, Sumo Logic, Kibana/OpenSearch, Dynatrace and AppDynamics.  Custom monitoring tools are involved as well, and will require maintenance.
  • Create and manage tools that will assist in troubleshooting and problem area determination.  Also included would be automation wherever possible, around tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Implementation of solution architecture from cloud architect team into all AWS environments. Training and adoption of L1 teams around solution and support.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years DevOps experience, with focus on building CI/CD pipeline, application build creation and integration with 3rd party or proprietary services.
  • 5+ years of experience with AWS, including involvement in publishing underlying applications/services in a public manner (public cloud).
  • 5+ years scripting, inclusive of process/task automation, application build out, and additional application instrumentation for troubleshooting and logging.
  • Knowledge of API workflow, web services, REST, and RPC is a must.
  • Infrastructure as a code background in either a DevOps role or system administration role is a must.
  • Architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms is a plus.
  • AWS cloud security controls implementations experience essential. (AWS certifications are a plus)
