Job description

🚀 Build the future of employee leave

We're tackling the complex world of employee leave. Today, it's fascinating and baffling how complicated the process is: going on leave (be it parental, medical, bereavement, or for any other reason) means talking to reps and wading through a mountain of government and insurance claims just to get your time off and income in moments when you're the most stressed and busy. We talked to hundreds of employees and employers who had nightmare stories to tell, and wondered to ourselves why nobody had solved this yet.

Our mission is to take the work out of leave — removing all of the friction that exists today for both employees and employers — and be the #1 advocate for folks going through the process. It's a really exciting space, and we're moving incredibly fast on both product and user momentum.

Excited about taking the most frustrating insurance, banking, and finance processes out there and making them surprisingly delightful? We'd love to work with you.

The opportunity

Cocoon is looking for a seasoned marketer to fill in for our Sr. Product Marketing Manager while she’s on parental leave. We are a lean Marketing team, and everyone chips in where needed regardless of official swimlanes. Cocoon’s product is evolving quickly with lofty growth goals in 2025—this is a great opportunity for a generalist or product marketer to get exposure to many facets of a Series A company with a technical product in the fascinating, complex space of employee leave.

The details
  • You will report to our Staff Content & Community Marketer, Ryley, with additional oversight from our VP of Revenue, Grace
  • 10-15 hours of work per week from February - June 2025
  • Schedule expectations:
    • Most work can be done async on your own time
    • At least two standing meetings per week (one with Marketing, one with Product)
    • We are a Slack-heavy team. We’d ask for a 24-hour response time for Slack messages, plus an agreed-upon “office hours” block (1-2 hours per week) where you are online and available to chat via Slack.
