Walker Sands is looking for an experienced motion designer to join our contractor roster. While we don’t have a specific project in mind at the moment, we’re building a pool of talented professionals we can rely on for future needs. Contractors from this roster may be contacted for work on a per-project basis, with the possibility of ongoing or extended engagements depending on performance and agency demand.

Daily work for a motion designer may include creating engaging animations and video content for a variety of client deliverables, including social media campaigns, explainer videos, website assets, and event visuals. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—designers, copywriters, strategists, and account leads—to bring concepts to life in visually compelling ways.

Responsibilities:

• Develop motion graphics and animations from concept to completion, adhering to project guidelines, timelines, and brand standards.
• Collaborate with copywriters, designers and creative directors to storyboard ideas and translate static visuals into dynamic motion.
• Edit and refine video content, including adding sound effects, music, transitions, and text overlays.
• Work closely with internal teams to manage feedback and revisions efficiently.
• Organize and manage project assets, ensuring everything is properly labeled and archived for future use.
• Ensure deliverables are optimized for their intended platforms (e.g., social media, websites, live events).

Requirements:

• 1–5 years of professional experience in motion design or animation.
• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other relevant tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Strong understanding of animation principles, video editing techniques, and storytelling through motion.
• Experience designing for a variety of platforms, including social media, web, and live events.
• Familiarity with designing and exporting in Figma.
• An organized and detail-oriented mindset, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving attitude.
• A portfolio showcasing high-quality motion design work.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Familiarity with 3D software (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender).
• Experience creating digital illustrations.
• Experience with sound design and audio editing.
• Knowledge of video production workflows, including color grading.
• Experience working with marketing agencies or B2B companies.

• Rate: To be negotiated based on experience and scope of work.
