As Service Continuity professionals we want to help our Technology teams to be ready for handling crises. That means we need to help them to see where they should work on improving the resilience of their services. We work with a whole range of teams, and services, playing a key role in helping them to ensure they can meet their Plan Zero objectives.

 

This role in a nutshell:

The purpose of this role is to work as a key part of the Service Continuity team in ensuring that the technical engineering squads build and operate resilient services that deliver our Plan Zero goals for the customer.

 

Your key outcomes will be:

  • Coaching engineering teams to identify and improve the resilience of their services using a range of approachesAssisting in the prioritisation of findings and improvement actions 
  • Assisting in the development of RTO / RPOs that meet business and compliance requirements 
  • Supporting teams to document their recovery approaches
  • Support in the evaluation of critical risks
  • Support in exercising scenarios most likely to occur in a given service
  • Assist in monitoring 3rd party supplier continuity arrangements
  • Analysing and presenting information that supports the improvement of OVO’s continuity arrangements

 

Within your first 3 months you’ll:

  • Have a wider understanding of OVO products and services
  • Use structured tools and processes to enable you to engage with teams and help them to improve their service continuity arrangements
  • Participate actively in Business Impact Analysis and maturity assessments
  • Identify and prioritise findings and actions 
  • Develop your understanding of RTO / RPOs and how they complement business and compliance requirements 
  • Be able to support teams to document their recovery approaches
  • Identify and evaluate continuity risks
  • Be able to support in exercising scenarios 
  • Assess 3rd party supplier continuity arrangements
  • Be actively involved in identifying and contributing to service continuity objectives
  • Be developing, analysing and reporting on progress against improvement and delivery objectives

 

You’ll be a successful Service Continuity Analyst at OVO if you…

  • Have great communications skills and can talk to people at all levels of the business…especially software engineering teams!
  • Can clearly demonstrate how you are improving OVO’s continuity maturity through analytics and reporting
  • You have awareness of business continuity and disaster recovery practices 
  • You are able to coach people and teams in how to improve their process
  • Have great planning skills and can develop flexible plans to engage with engineering teams with competing priorities
  • Great at working as part of a team, and want to develop your experience in supporting engineering teams using modern software development approaches
  • Be flexible in your approach to assessing innovative and constantly changing services that deliver for our customers
  • Are willing to bring ideas and show how they will help us improve!

We’ll pay you between £32,500 and £46,800, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!
