Job description

Join Trackunit as a trusted Sales Engineer and support driving innovation and building lasting customer partnerships. As a skilled technical advisor and internal advocate, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to identify value-driven solutions, validate feasibility, and lead impactful Proof of Concepts (PoCs). Your goal: eliminate technical barriers, streamline the sales process, and set the stage for long-term success!

With locations in the hearts of London, ON, Kitchener, ON and Oakbrook IL, we offer you a flexible setup with the possibility to work from one of our locations or in a hybrid/remote model.

What’s in it for you?
  • A place in an agile growth SaaS business, with possibilities to grow internally in the company. We are growing rapidly, so fasten your seat belt and prepare to be adaptable.
  • International environment with regular check-ins and social events across teams, departments and borders.
  • We take your personal and professional development goals seriously and we support them through training, coaching and mindfulness as well as with a constructive feedback culture to help you identify your strengths and opportunities. We do this by touching upon your impact on our triple focus: impacting yourself, impacting teams/relations and impacting the organization/strategy.
  • Flexibility and hybrid working is not just a cliché to us or something we state in a job posting. We do offer you a flexible setup and believe that you best can structure how your routines look like. And once you have chosen how you work best, let us know what you need: we got you covered with the IT equipment you need for your work.
  • Turning the Tide. At Trackunit, we are committed to creating and contributing to an inclusive workplace. And this commitment starts with our hiring - we do not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, sexual orientation, personal expression, ethnicity, religious belief, or disability status. We only assess candidates on their qualifications and merit. Learn more about TIDE and other DE&I initiatives here.

Responsibilities

Accelerate Technical Sales Journeys

  • Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to identify key problems, propose innovative technical solutions, and validate feasibility.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert in meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations, ensuring customer needs are effectively addressed.
  • Configure and tailor the Trackunit solution to align with customer requirements, showcasing its value and impact.
  • Oversee technical Proof of Concepts (PoCs), including setting up test environments with accounts, CAN profiles, and API access, to validate technical feasibility and streamline the sales process—enhancing Trackunit’s ability to win deals by reducing technical friction.

Enhance Technical Success for New Leads

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product, to ensure technical commitments made during the sales process are both feasible and aligned with delivery capabilities.
  • Establish trust with technical stakeholders at prospective customer organizations by providing clear, expert guidance on Trackunit’s technical capabilities and solutions.

Coordinate Internal Alignment for New Customers

  • Act as the voice of the customer within Trackunit, ensuring technical requirements and feedback from new leads are effectively communicated to relevant teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to share insights on market trends and customer needs, directing product development and roadmap priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of tools, templates, and best practices to optimize the technical sales process and improve the customer experience.
Who are you ideally?
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with pre-sales, Sales Engineering (Solution Architect/Engineer) or customer-facing roles within the SaaS, IoT, and industrial IoT industries.
  • Deep understanding of IoT solutions architecture, protocols, and connectivity technologies such as J1939 CANbus and Modbu.
  • Extensive experience in managing the technical components of securing new deals and contributing to the seamless acquisition of strategic accounts and key logos.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving and shaping business outcomes.
  • Sales-mindset with a focus on becoming the customers trusted technical advisor and guiding them through the process of becoming a Trackunit customer.
  • You are curious and have the will to find the root cause to customer’s challenges and needs.

Don't meet every single requirement? No worries - this is what we're looking for ideally, but if you're super excited about this role although your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply.

We hire skilled and enthusiastic people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers.
