Job description

The National Park Foundation (NPF) seeks an experienced media and entertainment professional to work with the Media and Entertainment Partnerships (MEP) team to build awareness and support for NPF. This is a contract position for the period of March 2025 – September 2025.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Contractor will work with members of the Media and Entertainment Partnerships (MEP) department under the direction of the Vice President of MEP. The Contractor supports NPF’s brand objectives with an emphasis on stewarding and executing successful media and entertainment collaborations for long-term retention and departmental growth.  The Contractor also supports the Vice President of MEP in the development of collaborative agreements, entertainment program initiatives, and the reporting of related activities in adherence to NPF brand standards and policies and those of NPF’s federal agency partner, the National Park Service (NPS).  The successful candidate will have in-depth project management, social impact, and partnership marketing experience.  In addition, the Contractor will be knowledgeable of media and entertainment brand activations, public relations, digital media, and more.  

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

Under the direction of the Vice President of MEP, the Contractor:

 

  • Manages the day-to-day partnership activations and fulfillment of MEP programming initiatives associated with NPF priorities. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate thoughtful and strategic use of entertainment engagement elements in the proper channels.
  • Works effectively with NPF internal departments including Marketing, Communications, Brand Management, Content & Social, Programs & Partnerships, Legal, and Finance to develop and execute MEP collaborations. 
  • Supports the VP of MEP in the preparation of staff and executive leadership participation in MEP program partnership initiatives.
  • Assists in the evaluation and refinement of entertainment-related criteria, programming, and agreements.
  • Helps develop and implement stewardship strategies for targeted entertainment collaborations.
  • Drafts and prepares strategic programming marketing materials, including presentation decks, term sheets, proposals, and contracts for partnership agreements. 
  • Helps shepherd partner product and partnership announcements, content, and activations through marketing, communications, and the NPS review and approval process.
  • Maintains a recognition program for media and entertainment-related program supporters.
  • Manages invoicing for media and entertainment related expenses.
  • Tracks, reviews, and prioritizes internal requests related to corporate partnership agreements between NPF and MEP program partners to include cause marketing, commercial co-ventures, sponsorships, and licensing agreements.
  • Directs and responds to internal inquiries regarding contract drafts and processes, requirements, best practices, and related items.
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality of privileged information related to entertainment engagement elements and relationships with NPF.
  • Provides stewardship support of media and entertainment programming relationships as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years’ work experience in the media and entertainment industry, including 5+ years’ work experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-level program partnerships and stewardship management of high-profile relationships within the media, sports, and entertainment industry.
  • Demonstrated success in media and entertainment marketing and/or partnership marketing, including cause marketing, sponsorship management, social media, and methodology. 
  • Experience with media/entertainment activations and entertainment engagements and partner stewardship events. Experience with brand licensing and IP rights a plus.
  • Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.  Non-profit experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with public sector partners at federal, state, or local level strongly preferred. Familiarity with the National Park Service and/or working with a government agency is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, management, and budgeting skills; proactively anticipates needs and challenges to include maintaining clear and frequent communication with NPF staff at various organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, report metrics, and quickly adapt to changing priorities.  Strong attention to detail required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, required.  Additional presentation or design software preferred. Experience using Raiser’s Edge, Sales Force and/or general non-profit database operations a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Compensation/Schedule:  $55/hour; estimated minimum 32-hour work week; requires schedule flexibility to maintain frequent bicoastal communications.
