Job description

This is a remote position.

OpenLoop is looking for a Medical Director to join our team remotely. This role will be a member of the clinical leadership team and report to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

Responsibilities 
  • Manage clinical aspects of certain client relationships

  • Work alongside the CMO and existing Medical Director to develop/manage clinical protocols 

  • Work alongside the CMO and existing Medical Director to maximize the provider group’s clinical quality, productivity, and performance via collaboration with other members of the Clinical Operations team 

  • Supervise and manage physicians within the provider group to ensure patient services are delivered effectively within the scope of the program

  • Work closely with all levels of stakeholders while demonstrating project management skills toward problem identification and resolution

  • Identify areas of process improvements and inefficiencies

  • Engage in direct patient care for a certain percentage of their overall job responsibility by providing safe, effective, and compassionate care via telemedicine to patients across the country (based on licensure) for a wide variety of conditions

  • Effectively communicate expectations, motivate individuals, foster collaboration between departments, and demonstrate a proven ability to provide positive and motivating leadership that supports teamwork

  • Other duties as assigned



Requirements

  • Licensed and board certified (internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine) M.D. or D.O. required

  • Active unrestricted medical license in 5-10 states within the United States required

  • At a minimum, three (3) years of management of medical providers in a US health system within the past five (5) years or recent relevant experience required

  • Prior experience leading clinical teams (preferably with educational experience and/or strategic planning experience) required

  • Prior experience in virtual care required

  • Prior experience in clinical protocol development and management for the purpose of guiding virtual care required

  • Prior experience in virtual clinical operations required 

  • Prior experience with medical weight loss/obesity care required; prior experience with testosterone replacement therapy, hormone replacement therapy, functional/longevity/peptide medicine, remote patient monitoring, and chronic care management strongly preferred

  • Computer proficiency with systems such as Google Suite, Slack, Notion, Zoho, and multiple electronic medical record systems required

  • Able to quickly adapt to new technologies, such as software and operating systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Team player with an ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams and stakeholders 

  • Able to quickly pivot as needed in a rapidly growing startup environment 

  • Passionate about motivating and growing a successful team
