Summary of Position

Technical Expertise

  • Kubernetes: In-depth experience with container orchestration, deployment, and management in Kubernetes environments. Expertise in leveraging Kubernetes' building blocks (Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and Namespaces) for application scalability, high availability, and resource management. Experience in creating and managing Kubernetes clusters, working with Helm charts for packaging applications, and ensuring proper configuration and orchestration of microservices in a distributed environment.
  • MySQL and PostgreSQL on Kubernetes: Experience managing and optimizing MySQL and PostgreSQL databases in Kubernetes environments. Proficiency in configuring persistent storage, managing database schema, seeding data, and handling snapshots for backup and recovery.
  • Prometheus, New Relic, and Splunk: Expertise in monitoring, log management, and application performance using Prometheus, New Relic, and Splunk. This includes configuring custom metrics, setting up alerts, analyzing logs, and utilizing these tools for troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and visibility across distributed systems.
  • Jenkins: Proficiency in Jenkins for managing build and deployment pipelines, including troubleshooting and optimizing builds. Experience with Jenkins Shared Libraries and Configuration as Code (CASC)
  • Artifactory: Hands-on experience in managing artifact repositories and integrations.
  • Scripting: Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, and Groovy for automation and orchestration.
  • Rancher/Openlens: Experience with container orchestration and cluster management using Rancher.
  • Nice to have Jira: Project Administration experience, including managing workflows, permissions, and customizations.
  • Workflow Automation: Ability to design and implement automation workflows for operational efficiency.

Soft/Process Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to establish a continuous improvement mentality, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and outcomes.
  • Proven interest and passion for automation, actively seeking ways to eliminate manual tasks and increase efficiency.
  • Teamwork: Does the candidate display effective teamwork, including learning, collaboration, and relationship-building
  • Proficient in initiating and managing incident bridges, conducting initial investigations, analysis, and communication.
  • Expertise in leveraging PagerDuty for incident escalation and support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to drive incident stabilization and resolution.
  • Ability to conduct detailed root cause analysis, develop corrective and preventative action plans, and ensure their implementation.
  • Experience generating detailed reports, including weekly metrics, monthly digests, and trend analyses to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills to work across teams and drive process improvements.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively in high-pressure environments.
