We are seeking a Lead Turnaround Scheduler within our Project Resource and Outage Support (PROS) Group located in one of the business sub-regions in the U.S. or Canada. This is a resident-based position, and the ideal candidate should reside in California, Texas, Louisiana or Pennsylvania. This position requires the ability to travel up to 30% depending on assigned workload.
This is a diverse group that supports Industrial Gases (IG) North America capital projects, strategic planning, turnaround (TAR) planning, and turnaround execution. This allows our team to provide specialized services and additional capacity for infrequent events to operational assets. This role reports to the PROS Technical Planning Manager.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Expert level experience with Primavera P6 including the ability to train and lead junior Schedulers.
Expert level knowledge of Critical Path and the development of P6 schedules using Critical Path Methodology.
Understands and can interpret schedule priorities based on free float and intermediate milestones.
Ability to develop a ground up, fully resource-loaded schedule for planned outages and projects using Air Products standard practices.
Ability to audit and quality check other P6 schedules and identify technical errors or misalignment with Air Products standard practices.
Experience developing and analyzing resource loading histograms, direct field labor files, and manpower forecasts.
Ability to create accurate daily management reports from a global library and present this data as required during execution.
High level of experience interpreting schedule data and highlighting risks, opportunities, and constraints to the turnaround manager or broader leadership team.
Experience writing standard practice documents and maintaining standard practices through a management of change process.
Experience working with cross functional teams including safety, operations, maintenance, and contractors to build out realistic schedules to accurately reflect the planned work.
Qualifications and Licensing Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
10+ years’ experience in Turnaround Planning & Scheduling.
10+ years’ experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines, preferably with experience in industrial outages, exchangers, pumps, hydrotesting and pipe fabrication.
Able to work without close supervision.
Effective and strong communication skills.
Organized, focused, and able to balance multiple priorities and parallel tasks.
Understands standards as outlined by Air Products and regulatory agencies.
Works professionally and collaboratively with co-workers, supervisors, management, support personnel, program participants, and business-related persons.
Uses positive and constructive demeanor toward resolution of problems and conflicts.
Ability to work within and promote a teamwork philosophy.
Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) SAP, Primavera P6.
Ability to get TWIC card and pass refinery background checks.
Work Hours & Travel:
Typical work week is 40 hours with 80+ hours per week during turnaround execution.
Travel 30% is required across the U.S and Canada.
The work environment is diverse from an office setting to onsite at Air Products operating facilities.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, typical business hours (8am-5pm)
Work Model: Remote and Travel
On-call: no
Travel Example: You may travel to a site for 1-week in month 1, then month 2 and 3 you do not travel at all and WFH both of those months, then month 4 you do a week travel to a site, then month 5 you don’t travel, then month 6 & 7 they're onsite for that sustain 45 day duration to execute a turnaround.

In California, the anticipated pay range is $121,700 - $163,500 plus bonus. It's important to note that individual compensation packages are determined based on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to experience, and qualifications.
