About the role

You’ll play a key role in the early stages of building our Character Editor - a tool that will define how characters are created on our platform.

This isn’t just about creating stunning stylized characters (although that’s a big part of it). You’ll be deeply involved in the technical and artistic groundwork, helping shape workflows, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure the editor meets the highest standards. You’ll also take on ownership of your tasks, driving forward the character creation pipeline with your expertise.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the challenge of working in a startup environment, has extensive experience in character art, and thrives on solving complex problems while contributing to a shared vision.

What you’ll do

  • Establish the foundation for our Character Editor from the ground up.

  • Design and create high-quality stylized characters that demonstrate and push the capabilities of the editor.

  • Develop and integrate blend shapes for facial expressions and character customization.

  • Establish efficient pipelines and workflows for character creation within the editor.

  • Collaborate with the Art Director and engineering team to ensure the editor meets both artistic and technical requirements.

  • Take ownership of the Character Editor project, making key decisions and driving progress while balancing quality and deadlines.

  • Provide feedback and guidance to ensure consistency, usability, and high performance across the tool.

  • Work independently and embrace the responsibility of making critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

What we’re looking for

Must have skills and experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in character art, with a focus on stylized characters.

  • Proven experience in creating characters for editors, including blend shapes and customization features.

  • Expertise in Maya, Blender, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.

  • Strong background in building and optimizing workflows for character creation.

  • A track record of working on AAA projects or AAA outsourcing with high-quality results.

  • Conversational Russian, Ukrainian or Belarusian.

  • The ability to work autonomously, take responsibility for results, and make informed decisions.

Key traits we value

  1. Responsibility and Ownership: You take pride in your work, strive for high standards, and own the outcomes of your decisions.

  2. Proactivity and Initiative: You actively seek solutions, propose ideas, and aren’t afraid to take the lead on challenges.

  3. Focus and Consistency: You maintain steady progress and prioritize consistent results over one-time efforts.

  4. Collaboration and Openness: You communicate honestly, respect your team, and thrive in an environment of mutual trust.

  5. Effective Communication and Problem-Solving: You articulate ideas clearly, break down complex problems into actionable steps, and avoid over-complication.

Why join us?

  • Enjoy the flexibility of remote work, access our office in Warsaw, or have your coworking space covered if you work from a different location.

  • We provide the tools and equipment you need for productive and efficient work.

  • Join a small, growing team at an exciting stage where you can help shape a success story from the very beginning.

  • Take ownership of your work, make decisions, and directly influence the company’s results.

  • Work with independence and freedom, supported by a team that values your expertise.

The hiring process

We like to keep things straightforward and transparent:

  1. Portfolio review: We’ll take a close look at your work to see if your style and experience align with what we’re looking for.

  2. Professional Interview: A deep dive with our Art Director and team to discuss your expertise and approach.

  3. HR Interview: A friendly chat to get to know you, your goals, and how you work.

Offer: If it’s a match, we’ll send you an offer to officially welcome you to the team!

We value your time and aim to make the process as smooth and efficient as possible - on average, the entire process takes about two weeks.
