The Electrical Engineering (EE) team at SOE delivers innovative electrical solutions across various industries. We demonstrate excellence on every project across analog circuitry, mixed-signal design, embedded systems, and power electronics. Our network of diverse customers provide extraordinary opportunities for rapid personal and team growth.

Job Overview:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take ownership over the design, architecture, and implementation of complex electrical systems across multiple projects. You will be joining a growing organization, where you will be responsible for supporting early-career engineers and will make an impact by growing and improving the engineering process. What You Will Do:

  • Own the technical direction of project teams sized from 3 to 10 engineers.
  • Mentor early-career electrical engineers, expending 30-50% of your weekly efforts to identify areas of skill development and provide feedback
  • Work closely with customers to build the right thing in a wide variety of industries (aerospace, renewable energy, medical, industrial automation, etc.)
  • “Best at SOE” technical leadership in mixed signal design, power electronics, digital design, or electrical systems integration and analysis.
  • Deeply understand the customer needs and navigate the project lifecycle to achieve customer success
  • Support Business Development (BD) partnering in early-stage calls with new customers, and creating and reviewing cost and labor estimates

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience designing custom electronics
  • Experience organizing and leading project teams through hardware design projects from inception to completion
  • Exceptional technical ability demonstrated by a track record of developing and delivering high-performance electronic products or systems.
  • Experience acting as a technical mentor and teacher to early-career engineers
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and align different disciplines (mechanical, software, etc.) toward shared solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to identify the type of problem (technical, interpersonal, organizational) and take initiative to execute the right solution
  • Demonstrated strength in clearly communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Expertise with at least one ECAD tool, such as Altium Designer, Mentor, Cadence, etc.

What Would Be Useful:

  • Master’s degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Physics, Math, related field) or graduate research experience
  • Experience working in a startup/tech/consulting environment, prioritizing and managing numerous concurrent responsibilities
  • Comfort with pivoting on and off projects to balance load across the engineering organization
  • Enthusiasm for solving a variety of technical challenges across different industries
  • Experience with designing large-format, high-density, and/or high-layer-count PCBs, preferably for aerospace, automotive, medical, or other high-reliability applications

Benefits:

  • Compensation range of $145,140-$186,610 + equity incentive plan
  • Flexible work hours and work from home policy
  • 100% employer-paid health insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision) for employees + 50% dependent coverage
