About the role:

The Director of Global Benefits oversees Kong’s global benefits strategy and philosophy. Reporting to the Global Head of Total Rewards, this role collaborates with leadership across the organization to align benefits with Kong’s values and culture.  The role also ensures effective and efficient operations for global benefits while optimizing Benefits investment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops, maintains and scales global benefits strategies while providing benefits that meet the varied needs of employees, local regulations, company culture, and business requirements.
  • Creates and maintains a market competitive benefits program to help attract and retain talent.
  • Ensures all programs comply with local labor laws and regulations across regions.
  • Maintains documentation and reporting requirements related to benefits and pension programs.
  • Utilizes data analytics to assess the effectiveness of benefit and pension programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepares and presents reports to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on total rewards strategies.
  • Develops communication tools and documents, driving effective communication of benefit strategies and programs.
  • Organizes, creates, and maintains standard operating procedures, including system and process documentation.
  • Builds benefit programs that are committed to ensuring the long-term success of our people and our organization.
  • Develops and manages cost-effective ways to attain and administer global benefit programs in locally relevant ways.
  • Successfully oversees the integration and harmonization of benefits packages for colleagues joining Kong through acquisition.
  • Builds recognition for the value that global benefits bring to the company.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of benefit vendors (i.e. brokers, consultants, insurance carriers, record-keepers), trustees and other administrative and/or legislative agencies; evaluates and recommends outside business partners based on performance and value to support Kong benefit requirements.
  • And any additional tasks required by manager.

  • Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CEBS, CCP) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in benefits and pension management, with a focus on building and managing business aligned benefit programs; preferably gained while working for a global organization.

  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of US and global benefits and pension best practices, regulations and trends.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and proven flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across cultures and functions.
  • Proficiency with Workday preferred.

  • Essential Traits:
  • Flexible and comfortable to roll-up your sleeves, used to being hands-on.
  • Strong experience in design and implementation of benefits programs across multiple countries in all regions.
  • Ability to review and assess benefits packages from acquired companies, to recommend approaches to harmonization and to successfully implement integration of employees from acquired companies.
  • Proven, influential leadership and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work with other areas such as HR Business Partners, Finance, Communications, HR Shared Services and communicate in a way that is understandable to others.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and efficient time management with the ability to prioritize workload with the ability to operate in a face-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong focus on driving operational excellence through the develop of scalable administration processes and the utilization of appropriate technology solutions.
  • Knowledge of integrating benefits technology solutions with various HRIS, payroll, vendors, and carrier systems.
  • Kong has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. US based employees are typically offered access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short and long term disability benefits, basic life and AD&D insurance, among others. The typical base pay range for this role in the US is $190,000 - 230,000.
