The opportunity
Heart & Stroke offers hybrid work. This role works predominantly remotely from an off-site home office within Quebec. Candidates must be located in Quebec.
The Bilingual Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing HR expertise, partnership, and support to an assigned client group, working with the Director, Human Resources, and Human Resources team to provide professional, strategic and effective support to enable the organization to attract, manage, develop and retain employees, and providing leadership on legislative obligations in the province of Quebec.
This position is accountable for:
Providing a wide range of Human Resources expertise, solutions and consulting services to support employees, business and people leaders in the achievement of their goals with special expertise and focus on Quebec practices and legislative requirements
Supporting the development, planning and execution of various programs and initiatives in relation to recruitment, retention, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, HR policy & procedures and health & safety
How you will make an impact every day
Provide subject matter expertise in the employee journey from recruitment, hiring, employee engagement, career development/management, performance management, off-boarding:
Collaborate with team members (Learning and Development, Compensation, Communications) on new approaches, programs, policies and procedures to continually improve HR practices
Take an active role in HR projects, demonstrating leadership capabilities and continuous improvement and growth of the HR function. Examples of projects; Recruitment process improvement, Policy review and development, Risk management, Long-term disability management, Job evaluation
Partner with senior leaders (ET, SLR) providing guidance and support on various HR matters including employee relations, engagement, performance management, compensation and total rewards, organizational structure, workforce planning, role definition, etc.:
Build strong, trusting relationships and partners with the business leaders at the senior management, manager and supervisor levels to understand the business and deliver appropriate, timely and high-quality HR solutions
Partner with assigned client group to provide advice, coaching and communication in all areas of Human Resources, leveraging knowledge of HR and business practices to influence best outcomes for the organization
Recruitment and resourcing:
Deliver full recruitment services including job description review/creation, postings, sourcing, testing, interviewing, and employee offers through to on-boarding
Employee Relations:
Performance and Compensation Management:
Provide guidance and recommended solutions on a wide array of performance effectiveness issues including, role clarity, structure, performance management, management skills gaps analysis and development plans, talent development, succession planning and team building.
Disability Management:
Employee Data Administration/HR Policies & Procedures:
Educate and ensure managers know their accountabilities and obligations in relation to employee management and employee data administration information: absence records, vacation, title, etc.
