Report To: Director of Marketing

Role Overview:

The Outreach and Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in expanding our reach and deepening our connection within our five-county service area. You will work closely with the Director of Marketing to implement strategies that align with our company goals. Responsibilities include attending BBB Cleveland and community events while assisting in planning and promoting virtual and in-person events to increase audience engagement and foster brand loyalty. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicative, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of initiative and creativity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide presentations/workshops to diverse groups including older adults, students, youth, business owners
  • Set up and represent BBB at events, trade shows, community events, educational courses/presentations, and activities
  • Identify and establish new partnerships with local businesses, non-profits, government agencies, schools, or other community organizations.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate staff to support outreach events and initiatives. This may involve developing training materials, managing schedules, etc.
  • Assist with developing and executing marketing campaigns that enhance our brand visibility and outreach efforts
  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of outreach and marketing efforts, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain a database of community contacts, partnerships, event participants, etc., to measure outreach effectiveness and track long-term engagement.
  • Assist with grant proposals, sponsorship outreach, or fundraising initiatives to secure funding for community programs and outreach efforts.
  • Assist with BBB’s Educational Foundation 501(c)(3) projects
  • Work with the Director of Marketing on BBB’s Annual Meeting and other BBB-hosted events
  • Provide marketing support to the Director of Marketing
  • Special projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
  • Ability to set up and take down tradeshow displays
  • Familiarity with Canva, webinar platforms, Google products, Microsoft
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency is required for this position. A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Appreciation for and sensitivity to equity, diversity, workplace culture, and community issues
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Valid license, willing to travel within our 5-county service area (30-40%)
