As an Lead Application Engineer you will be responsible to lead projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact for downstream & upstream Turbomachinery Solutions at the regional level. In this role, you will also be responsible for complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within area of application engineering and contribute to the overall business strategy..

In the role, you will lead the following activities:

  •   Providing technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing results-oriented product applications and solutions
  • Being responsible for supporting leaders in delivering revenue commitments
  • Being able to estimate Baker Hughes equipment and system performance, hardware, and price for budgetary estimates for new units and upgrades of Centrifugal Compressors
  • Participating in Risk Assessment processes, deal strategy reviews and cost out reviews during proposals preparation defining the best technical solutions
  • Being able to align sub vendors proposals according to customer’s Requisition and relevant applicable technical specs guarantying quality completeness and time responsiveness
  • Performing cycle and equipment comparisons to establish economically optimum / BH preferred cycle and configuration with involvement of and communication to the commercial teams and application engineers
  • Developing and maintain documentation of processes &information used within the evaluation, analysis and pricing group for the purposes of ensuring consistency, sharing of information among team members, and training resources
  • Providing performance data and hardware definition and work with Engineering and Sales to assure technical support of proposals.
  • Providing accurate and timely data, which may involve direct interaction with internal and external customers
  • Communicating openly with management about the status of projects to facilitate the evolution of business strategies and increase our hit rate on current and future projects
  • Managing daily priorities and work on assigned projects or processes.
  • Use effective problem-solving skills and documents to communicate results of generated technical data.
  • Establishing working relationships using clear and concise writing and speaking skills.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with Minimum of 8-15 years experience in an Engineering or Sales Support role specially in Centrifugal Compressor
  • Relevant 3 years in Application Engineering (Preferred)
  • Have product knowledge with technical skills; Ability to provide technical direction
  • Have prior experience with customer specifications review, proposal development, and contract development and negotiations is preferred
  • Have Knowledge of International standards- API, ASME etc.
  • Show good negotiation and influencing skills
  • Be able to demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Be successful at building relationships and collaborating to resolve problems
